Maintains, troubleshoots, tests and repairs manufacturing equipment and related plant facilities like electrical power distribution, air compressors, boilers etc. Uses experience and skills of the intermediate to advanced level to support Electrical, Electronic, Electro-mechanical, basic mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies intermediate to advanced level of knowledge of electrical/electronic and Electro-mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and then applies proven skills in restoring equipment to operation in a timely fashion. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of the plant, manufacturing and related equipment, sensors, motors, VFDs, controllers, and as directed.

What You Will Be Doing

Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic equipment to the device level as well as show a basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment. Including but not limited to programmable controls (PLCs), sensors, photo eyes, proximity, pressure & temperature sensors, power supplies, VFDs, gages, valves, relays, motor starters and test equipment like VOM, meggers.

Plans and performs work with changing priorities. Leverages knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles to quickly diagnose problems.

Displays good communication skills; able to talk with production operators, supervisors, engineering and management. Able to listen to multiple instructions and be flexible as equipment needs change. Able to cooperate and collaborate with the rest of the maintenance team in a positive way. Self-directed, capable to follow local and national electrical codes, OSHA, NFPA and principles of operation.

Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.

Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with manufacturing equipment and components.

Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential problems and inherent dangers involved.

Maintains written and computer equipment performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.

Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed and on time.

Assists all maintenance personnel with basic cross-functional technical troubleshooting.

Assists and trains other maintenance and/or other technical employees.

Performs other duties as required or directed.
What You Need for this Position

Combined with the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.

A thorough knowledge of manufacturing electrical & electronic components and equipment experience including the use of special instruments for diagnostics.

Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to share, learn and teach about repairs and troubleshooting.

Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.

Basic PC proficiency including: Microsoft Office Suite and basic PLC knowledge is necessary.

Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

High degree of detail and precision work, use of a soldering iron, work with small tolerances required.

Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Use of scissor lift, fork / boom lift

Ability to work on and around electricity from 24Vdc up to 480Vac and 1000 Amps.

Ability to troubleshoot mA, mV signals. Use VOM, clamp meters, tachs.

Strong organizational & planning abilities and strong analytical & problem solving skills are essential. Effective time management skills.

Self-motivated and detailed oriented.

Ability to organize & present information quickly, effectively and to respond to questions from internal customers. Ability to document and communicate repairs to others and engineering.

Strong commitment to company values.

Ability to support CAPx projects.

Understanding of basic OSHA requirements. Ability to follow strict LOTO rules.
