Position Summary

BorgWarner PowerDrive System's engineers develop and deploy innovative powertrain systems enabling the next generation of efficient, clean and intelligent drivetrain solutions. As a member of the global Electronic Systems and Controls team, you will be leading the development of processes, methods and tools (PMT) for product development in the ES&C team. With your technical expertise you will be responsible for defining, maintaining and the continuously improving PMT work products, driving PMT alignment across PDS engineering site, achieving compliance to industry process and safety standards, ensuring PMT work product deadlines and deliverables are achieved. In addition, you will support/participate in cross business unit PMT activities.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the successful implementation of ES&C Development Processes

  • Manages the development of required Processes to meet customer expectations and industry standards

  • Ensure developed Processes are in adherence and support of the PDS Product Development Process

  • Drives accountability and action within the Process Team

  • Establish Process measures and metrics to demonstrate process adherence

  • Assesses projects to ensure compliance to processes and support resolution of nonconformance's

  • Achieve compliance to industry stands such as ASPICE and ISO26262

  • Drive continuous process improvement for efficiency, robustness, and changing industry standards

  • Leadership

  • Leads cross-location group of experts in the development of ES&C Processes

  • Organizes and facilitates global team meetings at the necessary frequency

  • Drive alignment within the Process Team and across PDS ES&C development sites

  • Seek alignment in a timely manner and/or set direction

  • Drives consistency across PDS location in processes, methods and tools

  • Communicates effectively

  • Bases communication in a fundamental understanding of BorgWarner and customer norms, values, and expectations

  • Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with reports, peers, supervisors and customers both written and verbal

  • Guide, mentor and support projects teams to achieve compliance to internal processes

  • Development Process

  • Documents and articulates all aspects of the Program in thorough, accurate, and timely fashion

  • Ensure sufficient resources are allocated to the Program(s)

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Systems, Hardware, Computer, Software Engineering or equivalent degree, Master's preferred.

  • 10+ years' experience developing embedded electronics products; automotive industry preferred.

  • 5+ years' proven track record of technical team leadership.

  • 5+ years' experience with developing, improving, or deploying electronics development processes, methods and tools.

  • Strong applied knowledge of Automotive SPICE, ISO26262 and IATF 16949.

  • Completed industry recognized Automotive SPICE training; certified provisional assessor or certified competent assessor preferred

  • Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 The Controls ME Engineering Manager in Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for working with Manufacturing, Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering groups, ICT, Finance and Purchasing. This position will lead the development of new and existing processes, Controls and Robotics specifications, and machine and automation equipment design that meets WCM and WCT methodologies. Responsibilities will include reviewing production KPI's and developing associated Continuous Improvement Plans in alignment with WCM-driven priorities. The selected candidate will be required to interact with counterparts in the Engine Manufacturing Engineering Center (EMEC), Engine Manufacturing Engineering Center - Mexico (EMEC-Mexico), and the Transmission Manufacturing Engineering Center (TMEC) to insure all standards & specifications are aligned across all NAFTA operations. The selected candidate will also function as the single point of contact for the NAFTA region when interacting with global Powertrain counterparts to insure alignment of standards & specifications on a global basis. Additional responsibilities include:● Planning for integration of all equipment with all required FCA ICT systems● Maintain and improve controls MQAS requirements. ● Provide engineering support, develop standard programming software, develop OEM's and controls suppliers, support controls program execution and non-new model activities for Manufacturing Plants. ● Lead activities that support the WCT methodology. ● Provide leadership in Early Equipment Management Pillar through application of EEM. ● Champion MPI reviews and process improvements between plants.
