Centuria Corporation is seeking Electronics [Bench] Technician to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS) program in Rochester, NY.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS) operates the NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) All Hazard Network to provide continuous transmissions of recorded and live weather and appropriate hazard warning information to the public. NWWS is a satellite and internet-based service to deliver weather and all-hazards text product messages to subscribers representing Government, media outlets, emergency managers, and others for redistribution to the general public. The NWWS network broadcasts weather forecasts, watches, warnings, and all-hazards information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Troubleshoot circuit board sub-assemblies to component level using the test equipment
Testing the boards in the transmitter to insure complete functionality.
Repair VHF FM transmitters to the system and component level.
Grow to learn the complete transmitter system.
Bench technician able to troubleshoot and repair to component level.
3+ years minimum electronics background.
Ability to interpret assembly drawings and schematics. Candidates will be tested in the electronic component aspect of reading schematics and troubleshooting.
Experience with bench test equipment, (Power supplies, Oscilloscope, Digital multimeter, Spectrum Analyzer, Communications Monitor, etc.)
Soldering experience required for both surface mount and through-hole components.
RF communications background highly desired.
Able to operate well with others, working with respect and integrity.
College degree and/or military a plus but not required.
