Electronics and Electrical Systems Integration Manager
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Manager, Electronics and Electrical Systems Integration role. This role will be responsible for the seamless integration of final manufactured products from concept through production validation that delivers product leadership through balanced product solutions that delight consumers and satisfy the needs of the business and stakeholders.
Manage system integration of projects in Production Development Projects
Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and project execution
Responsible for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails
Lead technical design reviews for project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails by working with key development team members (e.g. Subsystem teams, Verification and Validation (V&V) Strategist, Project Leader) and by consulting with key architecture development team members when necessary (e.g. System Architect, Subsystem SMEs, V&V Strategist)
Responsible to drive full system validation through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages
Responsible for driving Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process, including the following:
Manage/Release of engineering bill of materials based on project charter and architecture definition
Drive simulation of virtual prototypes and build of physical prototypes per V&V Plan
Document total expected variation to +/- 3 sigma distribution for each attribute
Document the revision of parts used in builds using baselines
Designate high contributing factors toward each function as a Special Characteristics
Drive the measurement and documentation of the special characteristics on physical prototypes
Drive closure of design failure mode and effect analysis (dFMEA) action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks
3+ years experience in project engineering & technical design experience in embedded software/hardware development
2+ years experience in project management
Electronics and electrical systems design and integration experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Problem solving approach with OPEX certification
Systems thinker with INCOSE ASEP or CSEP Certification* or equivalent
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others
