Job Duties

Provides technical repair support for various security electronics systems at the assigned facility. This position supports, but is not limited to, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, perimeter detection systems, panic alarm, intrusion, PLC door controls, intercom/Public Announcement (PA) and other access control systems.

This includes administration, performance monitoring, hardware repair and support, and providing overall technical leadership with regards to the systems at their facility. Maintains the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of security systems throughout the agency. Maintains inventory through planning and purchasing,and responds to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS). Keys data into the Total Maintenance System (TMS) for preventative maintenance, corrective repairs and inventory purposes.

May supervise inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility's communication wiring infrastructure, cable tv and other non-security related areas. This position is subject to after-hours or emergency call ins as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma and equivalent experience in the relevant experience. Working knowledge of electronics theory and practice as it relates to electronic security systems.

Working knowledge of Ethernet Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking as it pertains to Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and electronic security systems and devices. Working knowledge of access control systems comprised of commercially available components, relay logic and custom Programable Logic Control (PLC) based or hybrid systems.

Working knowledge of computer systems from Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) through various Windows OS environments.

Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting; Digital Multimeter (DMM), O-Scope, Network Cable Tester. Analytical and problem solving skills for troubleshooting complex electronic system problems. Additional Considerations

Prefer knowledge of perimeter security and public address systems. Prefer working knowledge of electronics theory including troubleshooting, calibration, test procedures, and circuit analysis.

Prefer knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment. Prefer ability to fabricate, modify and perform component level repair on a diversity of electronic instruments. Prefer ability to read and understand schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, flow charts, truth tables and service manuals. Prefer knowledge in two-way radio systems.
