Job Description:

As an Electronic Technician 3, you will be responsible for the building, rework, and maintenance of a wide variety of electronic assemblies, including circuit boards, test stations, electrical fixtures, or wiring harnesses in support of electrical engineering design and test efforts. This position supports the Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, which specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), using small company agility and big company experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Fabricate, modify, or repair wiring harnesses, circuit cards, test sets, and other electronic assemblies

  • Create wiring diagrams and assembly drawings for a complete technical data package to be used in the building of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies under the direction of engineering using preferred software, such as Visio and Excel

  • Update, track, and maintain engineering drawings through the release process using company PLM system

  • Assist engineering in the testing of cables, circuit card assemblies, evaluation boards and components

  • Cable and circuit card trouble-shooting, repair and modification

  • Wiring, construction, and maintenance of special test equipment and test fixtures

  • Asset management and calibration of lab test equipment and instrumentation

  • Part ordering; part replacement

  • Ensure active inventory of lab consumables

  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of any lab safety requirements or safety audits

  • Housekeeping, ESD certification, 6S & FOD compliance

  • Mechanical prototyping

  • Field test support

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizen

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance and additional clearances as required

  • Associates in Electronics Technology or higher

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an electrical engineering lab environment incorporating soldering skills, cable assembly, and traditional electrical lab technician duties

  • Knowledgeable about all facets of wiring harness creation including tooling, material selection, shielding methods, and assembly techniques

  • Capable of soldering a variety of fine pitched and complex electrical components.

  • Experience working with various test equipment such as: oscilloscope, signal generator, power supplies, etc.

  • Mechanical assembly

  • Knowledge of ESD Controls

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% to support field testing

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Existing DoD Secret clearance

  • Visio exposure or cable documentation software

  • Soldering certifications; soldering under a microscope

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently with a minimal supervision

  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.

  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
