$3,023.00-$4,114.00

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under limited supervision, performs a moderate to large variety of duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems, equipment, and fixtures. Work requires interpretation of prepared sketches, diagrams, schematics and blueprints. Reports to the Assistant Director of Maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Is responsible for the upkeep of the school telephone and intercom systems

• Maintains two-way radios for both school and bus communication.

• Maintains and repairs overhead projectors in classroom applications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Tests malfunctioning electronic systems and equipment.

• Installs, maintains, alters, and repairs telephone equipment, two-way radios, intercoms, cameras, and any other electronic equipment essential to the support of schools.

• Draws wire through conduit and completes necessary splicing, soldering and application of friction tape.

• Installs and connects equipment to wiring systems.

• Replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

• Replaces faulty electronic components.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Works with other related maintenance trades.

• Maintains tools, equipment and supplies for proper job performance.

• Performs other related maintenance functions as directed by the Assistant Director of Maintenance and/or the Director of Construction and Maintenance.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school is required. An Associate's degree in electronics from an appropriately accredited institution with three years of experience in performing most of the tasks associated with electronics work is preferred. Requires valid NC driver's license.
