About the Georgia Tech Library
The Georgia Tech Library is a member of the University System of Georgia library consortia, Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education (ARCHE), the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL), and the Association for College and Research Libraries (ACRL). The Georgia Tech Library has a unique and progressive service model that relies heavily on technology and electronic formats. Electronic resources account for 79% of our overall content, 98% of the Library's content expenditures and 99% of our content usage and the majority of our print collections are held in a high-density, climate-controlled storage facility in collaboration with Emory University Libraries. Job Summary
The Library (https://library.gatech.edu/) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a collaborative and knowledgeable librarian to manage the lifecycle of the library's electronic resources and serials, access, administration, and support. The Electronic Resources Librarian will work collaboratively with Technical Services librarians and staff to ensure a unified strategy for e-resource acquisition, discovery, delivery, and integration of scholarly resources. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services this position will serve as the Service Owner for E-Resource management and participate in strategic decision making as a core member of various internal and external committees. The Electronic Resources Librarian will provide expert advice regarding e-resource acquisition and management to inform and support the Georgia Tech Library collection development strategy and be a responsible steward.
This is a 12-month faculty position with an effort distribution of 80% excellence in assigned duties, 10% scholarship, and 10% professional service to the library profession. Up to two (2) years credit for previous professional experience may be given at the time of employment, in which case such credit will be stated in the offer letter. The Georgia Tech Library Faculty may enjoy flexible work schedules, professional development, and a healthy work-life balance.
This is a hybrid position, regular onsite time along with some teleworking hours is supported.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the lifecycle of electronic resources including access, maintenance and support, scholarly resource discoverability, and evaluation.
Lead projects and initiatives to improve upon and educate users and stakeholders on electronic resource management workflows and procedures.
Collaborates with Technical Services Librarians and staff, other colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure a unified strategy for resource acquisition, discovery, delivery, and access of scholarly resources.
Troubleshoot access to electronic resources using a ticketing system and work closely with other librarians and staff to develop solutions.
Monitor current trends and best practices in e-resources management and recommend improvements to local policies, practices, and workflows.
Participate in collaborative collection discussions with local, state, and national efforts including, but not limited to, Galileo, NERL, and ASERL.
Serve as an ex officio member of the Content Management Group and share expertise in electronic resource acquisition, licensing, and maintenance.
Serve as a core member of the Alma-Primo Advisory Group.
Conduct regular assessments of electronic resource workflows, and operations in order to implement new projects or services.
Create and maintain documentation on policies and procedures to ensure consistent practices.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
This position vacancy will be filled at the rank of Librarian I, II, Librarian III, or Librarian IV. Appointment to this rank requires an appropriate terminal degree, typically an American Library Association (ALA) - accredited master's degree, a degree in a subject related to archival work, and/or in the appropriate area of specialization.
Evidence of scholarship and/or evidence of service to the librarian profession.

Preferred Qualifications
2 years of post-MLS experience managing electronic resources within an integrated library system (ILS).
Knowledge of current vendors, trends, best practices, and issues related to academic e-resources.
E-resource management experience using Ex Libris Alma and Primo.
Experience with OpenAthens.
Proficiency with best practices and standards in library usage data, e.g., COUNTER, SUSHI etc.
Knowledge of cataloging best practices for e-resources.
Experience with programming or scripting languages like python for task automation or metadata manipulation.
Experience working with library vendors.
Instruction and/or training experience.
Solid record of working collaboratively as well as independently.
Demonstrated experience with project management, including planning, communication, and assessment.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working with SpringShare products, such as LibGuides.
Proposed Salary
This is a benefits-eligible position with a minimum salary of $67,498, commensurate with education and experience.
