Electronic Health Record Application Support Specialist

The application support specialist supports end users with electronic medical record and practice management applications utilized in medical practices.

Responsibilities:

1.EMR System Management:

Supports Daily Operations (Athena & eClincal)
Participate in system updates and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA.

2.Data Integrity and Security:

Monitor entry for accuracy and completeness.
Conduct audits of the EMR to ensure quality and compliance.
Implement and enforce data security measures.
Mange user accounts and permissions within the EMR system.
Collaborate with 3rd party vendors.

3.Training and Support:

Provide training sessions and ongoing support for staff on EMR usage.
Help develop user manuals and training materials.
Respond to inquiries and provide technical support as needed.
Work in help desk support and have excellent customer service skills.

4.Project Management:

Participate in the planning and implementation of new EMR systems and upgrades.
Collaborate with IT, clinical and administrative staff to assure seamless integration of EMR systems.
Manage project timelines and ensure milestones are met.

5.Regulatory Compliance:

Stay updated on healthcare regulations and EMR standards.
Ensure compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
Assist with regulatory audits and inspections.

6.Reporting and Analytics:

Generate and analyze reports to support clinical and administrative decision making.
Develop custom reports as needed.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in health information management, Computer Science, or related field.
Certification in Health Information Management (RHIA, RHIT) or related preferred.

Experience:

3 years' experience in working with EMR systems.
Experience in healthcare setting.
New graduates from a baccalaureate program in IT are welcome to apply for developmental roles and learn from the experts.

Skills:

Proficiency with EMR software (Athena and eClinical Works).
Working knowledge of healthcare data management.
Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and training abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.

Requirements:

Hybrid Model with some travel within the NY Metro Area to support our sites. Travel is reimbursed.
Able to work assigned hours to provide on-site support.
Assists team with additional tasks as needed.
Follow appropriate procedures and policies (i.e., change control, security and auditing, configuration, and incident management).

Salary: $60,000 to $90,000/year (depending on experience)
