Come work with multidisciplinary engineers focused on delivering world class Electro-Mechanical Ground Support Equipment & Special Test Equipment. You will be responsible for the design solutions that support the Organization. As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of electro-mechanical Special Test Equipment. Job responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the a Technical Lead and have technical oversight and mentorship relationships with junior engineers

  • Review technical drawings and ensure project performance, including cost & schedule reviews.

  • Detailed design (3D & 2D CAD) of electro-mechanical products such as cables & harnesses, racks, chassis assemblies, and other electro-mechanical fixtures to support Space electronics test needs.

  • Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.

  • Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.

  • Collaborate with program leadership, domain experts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.

  • Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs.

  • Supports production meetings and manufacturing and test anomaly / discrepancy resolution

  • Provides weekly / monthly status and regularly present to peers / leadership.

The ideal candidate will have good communications skills (both oral and written), able to mentor and develop subordinates, and have a strong background in manufacturing and ATLO environments and processes. A willingness to travel is required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.

  • Mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings.

  • Extensive experience with Creo (3D & 2D).

  • Experience working with teams on cross-level projects/multidisciplinary product development teams.

  • Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal customer relationships.

  • Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.

  • Candidate must have strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills, and have the ability to interact effectively and build effective relationships with customers.

The SPP program is looking to build a core team of highly motivated engineers excited to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is a rare opportunity for you to help meet the challenges in developing and delivering an important, exciting technology for our nation. * You will perform as part of the Mechanical operations team, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process within an electrical/mechanical spacecraft integration facility. * Perform as a Test Engineer and Certified Test Conductor (CTC) responsible for safe development and execution of mechanical integration & test procedures during all satellite test phases * Be responsible for looking ahead on what needs to be prepped for the next control point (MGSE items, procedure status, flight hardware, etc.) * Independently author test procedures, MWI and standard operating procedures compliant with the common processes within ATLO (FOE/FOD, drop mitigation, cleanroom protocol, etc.). * Work closely with the ops team to provide the flow of all parts, equipment and resources needed * Provide input into product build flow/schedule to ensure most efficient and productive layout. * Determine sequence of operations and specify procedures for the integration of hardware, equipment and other functions that affect product performance * Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques; ensuring processes and procedures are following CIPS (common integrated process solutions). * Specify solutions to a variety of technical problems Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field). * Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, schematics and specs. * Experience following or generating detailed test procedures or work instructions. * Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with internal customers. * Microsoft Office suite experience with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. * Must be a US citizen and possess an active TS/SCI Security clearance with Poly * Must be willing to work multiple shifts and overtime as needed to meet program needs.
