We are partnering with Amazon and looking for an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work with automated packaging and distribution equipment at our San Marcos, TX location.

Duties include:

  • Utilizes working knowledge and experience in the areas of VFD' s, Motors, Wiring configurations, PLC' s, Computers, Electrical Schematics, Control Circuits , Electrical Distribution Systems and Preventive / Predictive maintenance .
  • Mechanical expertise, to include, but not limited to, Precision Alignment, Rigging, Tensioning fasteners & belts, Lubrication, Lacing & tracking of belt systems, Mechanical drawings, and Preventive/Predictive maintenance.
  • Assist in formulating standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to repairs and preventive maintenance on conveying systems, power transmissions, and other power driven rotating equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards.

Requirements include:

  • Education : Possess a high school degree or an approved GED. Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent,is preferred but not required.
  • Five years experience in industrial electrical / mechanical maintenance
  • Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Proper use of hand / power tools, shop math, pneumatics, power transmissions, parts nomenclature, measurements and fasteners.
  • Available to work 3rd Shift on a '4 nights on, 3 nights off' schedule

Educates and informs park visitors of the resources available to them and provides a positive experience for park patrons. Enforces city ordinances and state laws. Provides emergency medical care to the injured and/or sick. Identifies issues that affect operational aspects of parks including, but not limited to, parking, lighting, trail construction, river quality (water), facilities use, etc. Supervises and trains other Rangers in the absence of a Ranger IV, V or the Ranger Program Manager. Reports to the Ranger Program Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DECISION MAKING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Patrols all city parks, facilities and surrounding areas by foot, bike, kayak, ATV and vehicle, to ensure the safety of park patrons. * Enforces city and park ordinances and state laws. Issues verbal and written warnings, parking citations, criminal citations, removes and/or arrests violators. * Works special events, and directly with the public to insure proactive voluntary compliance of park rules. * Regulates parking issues in all city parks by several methods including, but not limited to, traffic control, signage, road barrier controls, citations and physical controls. * Handles all emergency situations that may arise in the park setting and handles it appropriately. * Attends meetings and training sessions, as required. * Be able to coordinate and provide emergency medical treatment. * Completion of the departments Field Training Program. * Miscellaneous: * Coordinates with internal and outside agencies for special events and emergencies in the parks. Must understand and utilize the incident command system, (ICS). * Performs other duties as may be required by the nature of the position. * Able to perform minor maintenance on Park Ranger equipment and vehicles. * Maintains EMS protocol credentialing at the current certification level. * Ability to act as a Field Training Officer for new Ranger personnel. DECISION MAKING * Considerable knowledge of methods used with the public regarding ordinance and law enforcement in the park setting to gain compliance. * Completion of a Field Training, (FTO) program and 2 years of honorable service with a Law Enforcement agency. * Ability to analyze situations and adopt effective and reasonable course of action. Ability to communicate policy, ordinances, routine and emergency traffic. * Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, department policies, rules and regulations. * Knowledge of use and care of equipment and vehicles used by Park Rangers. * In the absence of a senior Ranger, the Park Ranger III will make decisions regarding customer service and problems that may arise during the normal course of business. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Salary is dependent upon qualifications) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * High school diploma or GED is required. * Ability to swim is required. * TCOLE Peace Officer license, basic or higher is required. * TDSHS EMT-Basic or higher certification/licensure is required. * AHA CPR Health Care Provider is required within 6 months. * Familiarization with modern police procedures and ICS operations is required. * Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required. * ATV drivers' license/certificate required or must be obtained within 12 months of employment. * Must be able to successfully complete the departments Field Training Program in six months or less. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Some college in a related field is preferred. Commensurate combination of education and experience may be considered. * TCOLE Field Training Officer or ability to obtain within 12 months. * Swiftwater Rescue Technician certification or Whitewater Rescue Technician certification, is preferred and can be obtained with 12 months. * Rope Rescue Operations or Technician is preferred * Able to perform minor maintenance on Park Ranger equipment and vehicles. * Be able to coordinate and perform water rescues. * Bilingual is preferred. Must apply and explain city ordinances and state laws; ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals including students, citizens, and civic groups. Must constantly work to maintain favorable professional relations with visitors to the park. * Must maintain a favorable relationship with the members of the police, fire, and EMS departments as well as other city employees. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally. Subject to standing, walking, running, balancing, vision, hearing, talking, foot and hand controls frequently; sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, bending, twisting and climbing occasionally; crouching and crawling rarely. Working conditions involve the majority of the position's time spent outdoors, patrolling city parks in a variety of weather conditions. May be exposed to conditions which threaten safety and health. Works most weekends from May to October, and most holidays from April to Labor Day. Works special events year round including evenings and weekends. Subject to call out emergencies.
