Position Summary and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Manager, one in this position will be responsible for the assembly and test of scientific digital cameras, optical measuring systems, components and accessories. You will assemble, align, calibrate and configure optics, spectrograph-based systems. You will test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronics equipment ranging from full CCD camera systems to printed circuit boards. You will assemble and test other scientific instruments in a clean room environment within our ISO-9000 production facility.
Assemble intricate opto-mechanical assemblies with precision tools and fixturing.
Align, test and calibrate precision opto-mechanical subassemblies and instruments.
Integrate the mechanical components and assemblies with state of the art computer software to perform the final system qualification and inspection.
Tests complex digital and analog Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Subassemblies, Modules and Systems using Functional Test Procedures, Individual Acceptance Test Procedures, Quality Test Instructions, and Factory Acceptance Test Procedures.
Programs and verifies programmable integrated circuits using approved procedures and Quality Assurance software.
Input data into, and extract data from, various production and company databases and ERP systems.
Identify problems with documentation and initiate corrections and improvements for new and existing products and methods.
Assist in transferring new product assemblies, instruments from product development into production including supporting Engineering for First Article testing and Qualification testing.
Working knowledge of mechanical and optical systems, reading and interpreting detail and assembly drawings, measuring instruments, and electronic troubleshooting techniques.
Good electro-optical trouble shooting skills.
Must be familiar with mechanical measuring equipment, meters, oscilloscopes and other related test equipment
Five to seven (5-7) years' experience in assembly and/or test of complex electronic and electromechanical products.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Associates Degree or equivalent in electronics, optics, physics or related scientific discipline, from two-year college or technical school or military service experience is preferred.
Proficient computer skills, such as, spreadsheets, word processing, and database.
Good interpersonal skills
