  • This developingtechnical leadership position develops and delivers technical talent in aresearch, technology or product development environment. He/She manages theresources that maximize workgroup productivity in support of business needs andimplements near term business strategies with a focus on execution. Theposition also includes maintaining strong working relationships with a wide varietyof stakeholders both within the technical function and across the broaderbusiness.

  • Primary responsibility is the development oftechnically capable people often across multiple technical sites within abusiness unit or corporate, and making these people available to perform dutiesnecessary to satisfy the businesses technical needs.

  • Provides problem resolution leadership for complexsystems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact; helpsget teams in place.

  • Leads the development and improvement of workprocesses and systems across function(s) within a global business unit ormanaging improvement across business units.

  • Coaches and mentors employees to provide guidanceand direction on resolving problems, technical know-how, removing barriers toprogress and career path planning. Assesses performance and provides feedbackto direct reports.

  • Creates, manages, improves and applies workprocesses involving activities such as resource allocation and management,organizational and business change, customer/stakeholder management andknowledge management; all used for the purposes of enabling high qualitydecision making that meets business expectations.

  • Decisions made in this role may include resourcedeployment cost and timing allocations, project prioritization, personnelstaffing, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management, the result of which canimpact project cost and delivery within a site or across several sites within abusiness unit.

  • Establishes employee performance standards; workscollaboratively to set goals and address areas of deficiency.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Prior Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering equivalentwork experience in a product, technology or engineering service role withdemonstrated success leading projects and influencing outcomes through eitherdirect or indirect reporting relationships.

  • Must have a demonstrated trackrecord of technical problem solving, quality decision making, providingtechnical direction and leadership to a project team(s) and conflictresolution.

  • Desireto work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

  • Weare focused on the acceleration of market proliferation of electrificationtechnologies by exceeding customer expectations of electrified vehicleperformance and integration.

  • Locationand Team: This role will be at the new Cummins Machine Integration Center(CMIC) in Walesboro, IN. The Team is known as the Cummins InnovationAccelerator (CIA) Team, and we operate in the space between R&T and VPI.

  • Applications: AllCummins Markets and Applications

  • Architectures: BEV,Series REEV, Parallel PHEV, Mobile and Stationary Power

  • Leadwith inspiration and passion, a small System Performance team, focused on:

  • InitialSystem Modeling and Architecture Definition in order to meet customerrequirements, VehiclePerformance and Chassis Dynamics Testing and analysis, and DataAnalysis and Rapid Engineering Response of in-field electrified vehicleoperation.

  • Desireto collaborate across the Controls Integration, System Integration, Design,Battery, SPA, R&T, VPI, and other Engineering Teams.

  • Demonstratedhistory of managing engineers in an agile type of environment, and inspiringthem to reach beyond typical boundaries to redefine the art of the possible.

Required Education,Licenses or Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree inEngineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

Base salary ratecommensurate with experience.
