West Fraser's Maxville, FL, mill is looking for an experienced Electrician to join our 3rd shift team, who is a team player.

What you will do:

  • Test electrical systems and circuits in electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment or components to identify hazards, defects or repair

  • Troubleshoot, program and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

  • Work with vendors to identify needed parts and recommend to Supervisor

  • Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints and schematics

  • Program AC & DC variable speed drivers

  • Update power distribution system, MCC and switch gears

  • Install electrical equipment

  • The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting, correcting, and maintaining all electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility.

  • Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000

  • Allen Bradley panel views

  • Allen Bradley Communications-Device net & Ethernet

  • Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Baxley, USNR)

  • Process Network Communication Systems and Components-Ethernet & Fiber Optic

  • Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions

  • Must be a self-starter who can work safely under high pressure situations

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs proper maintenance and repair of electrical systems. * Performing maintenance and repair on all building electrical systems, up to 480V, 3Ø to include indoor and outdoor lighting systems, electrical bus systems, electrical distribution panels, and secondary electrical feeders. * Repairing, maintaining, installing, inspecting, and testing of all building and equipment grounding systems, electrical wiring, electrical components and/or systems (e.g. motors, circuits, transformers, generators, compressors, switches, intercom systems, kitchen equipment, etc.). * Installation of additional electrical wiring and systems up to 480V, 3Ø. * Maintaining and performing inspections on all base lightning protection systems. * Maintaining and performing inspections on all base cathodic protection systems. * Maintaining and performing inspections on all base fire protection and alarm systems. * Maintaining and performing inspections on all base intrusion detection systems. * Utilization of testing devices such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and multi-meters. * Direct/train other maintenance workers w/installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. * Maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment. * Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. * Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. * Install conduit inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. * Prepare sketches and/or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment. * Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. * Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services. * Coordinate and communicate procedures and/or status of work orders for providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building, environmental, and safety regulations. * Ensures proper maintenance and repair of HVAC systems. * Maintaining, installing and repairing heat pumps systems, air conditioning systems, chiller systems and thermostats control systems. * Maintaining, installing and repairing electrical, boiler and propane heating systems. * Maintaining, fabricating, installing and repairing HVAC duct systems and damper controls. * Maintains, trouble shoots and repairs the bases (METASYS) environmental control system. * Maintaining, installing and repairing roof top ventilation systems and associated hardware. * Performs acetylene brazing, welding, and servicing of Freon. * Ensures proper maintenance and repair of base water distribution and plumbing systems. * Maintaining, installing and repairing sinks, showers, sanitary plumbing fixtures, and base fire protection systems. * Maintaining, installing and repairing sanitary sewer systems and lift stations. * Maintaining, installing and repairing potable water distribution systems. * Maintaining, installing and repairing AFFF fire protection systems, pumps, tanks, valves and cannons. * Assists in the maintenance, installation and repair of the base irrigations systems. * Responsible for maintaining maintenance work orders and equipment records. * Perform all other duties assigned by the State Maintenance Supervisor to include but not limited to: assisting janitorial staff, groundkeepers and Maintenance mechanics in their assigned duties, cutting grass, clearing ditch lines and picking up trash and debris around base as required.
