Overview

This position is responsible for interior and exterior electrical construction and maintenance of all campus buildings, fire alarm systems, data and telephone wiring, HVAC controls wiring and exterior fixtures at Ursinus College. Employees of Ursinus College must possess excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and have an overall concern for the general welfare of the college and community and provide the best possible environment for education and student living

Responsibilities

Installation and Repair of equipment and systems:

• Installation and repair of electrical circuits, equipment, and systems.

• Installation and repair of lighting systems including sensors, fixtures, and programming.

• Installation of data wiring.

• Installation and repair of telephone wiring including telephone "punch-down" panels.

• Installation and maintenance of exterior lighting and conduit including parking lot lights.

Preventative and Corrective Maintenance:

• Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment during and prior to use.

• Equipment trouble-shooting.

Departmental Responsibilities:

• Respond to on-call, after-hours emergencies.

• Interact with the college community.

• Assist HVAC staff in control wiring.

• Establish work priorities.

• Complete and fill-out work orders.

• Snow removal as required.

• Special events support as needed.

• Work up to 50 feet off the ground on a lift.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required

• Journeyman Electrician License.

• Knowledge of building electrical systems.

• Knowledge of fire alarm systems.

• Knowledge of telephone and data wiring.

• Knowledge of power tools.
