Position Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mill's electrical systems through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work, a keen eye for safety, and a collaborative spirit. With a focus on excellence and innovation, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of our operations in the timber industry. This position is located at our facility in Conway, AR.

Responsibilities

• Working safely while upholding Mercer Mass Timber's safety standards.

• Troubleshooting to prevent or correct irregularities and malfunctions.

• Adhering to and executing prescribed maintenance schedules in a safe and effective manner.

• Performing routine electrical/electronic preventative maintenance on mill equipment.

• Repairing, modifying and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment.

• Performing tasks like wiring circuits, replacing components, and repairing electronic devices.

• Performing test readings using several different instruments, including but not limited to multi-meter and megger.

• Remaining current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending industry training sessions or classes.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least three (3) years of experience as an Electrician.

• Prior maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with supervision, tradespersons, and operations teams.

• Strong knowledge and practice of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.

• Familiarity with the State and NEC codes for electrical installations.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting AC/DC systems and knowledge of AC/DC drive programming.

• Experience in a manufacturing setting and the Wood Products industry is preferred.
