Heatec, Inc. is seeking a qualified Electrician II to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Successful applicant will be responsible for running conduit, utilizing small hand tools and interpreting schematic drawings. Will read mechanical prints and P&ID's as well as build panel boxes and gas trains to customer specifications. Electrician II will ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. This position will at times be introduced to live power and must be qualified to take action in order to handle safely.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate HEATEC processes in all aspects of the manufacturing electrical department including panel room, construction manufacturing and industrial manufacturing as warranted by workload demands and scheduling needs

  • Build panel boxes and gas trains per specifications

  • Work closely with qualified partner to promote safe work habits while following safety policies and procedure at all times

  • Achieve quality results as it relates to the Company's vision and mission

  • Promote and educate others on Astec's core values

  • Follow company policies, procedures and safety rules at all times

Education: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1-3 years' experience in the electrical field or in a related area is required.

Professional Skills:
Must be detail oriented, good workmanship while taking and following direction with little to no supervision. Demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally and as a team necessary. Strong problem-solving skills desired.

Role Specific Competencies: Position must be proficient in all areas listed above and able to pass schematic drawing test and demonstrate advanced knowledge to Electrician III.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and 30 pounds occasionally

  • The ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally

  • The ability to manually manipulate constantly

  • The ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, crawl, squat or kneel, and bend frequently

  • The ability to sit occasionally

  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds

  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations

  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, high-visibility vest (as required), and earplugs (as needed)

  • The ability to climb ladders and work from heights

  • Work environment is a manufacturing facility

Work Schedule:
6:00a.m. until 3:30p.m. Monday through Friday; requires weekend work as needed.

Special Requirements:

Must successfully pass drug screen, strength and endurance physical, and background check. Valid driver's license is required.

Participates in analysis of the impact to the existing portfolio when new projects surface and works with senior portfolio analysts, functional and project managers to identify alternative strategies (resources, project sequencing, etc.). Supports analysis and reporting on trends that could have a potential negative impact to other projects functionally or financially. With senior portfolio analysts, performs project cost estimating, scheduling, milestone tracking and reporting. Follows standard methods for project performance monitoring, reporting, analysis, trend assessment, scheduling and estimating. Provides support to Project Advisory and/or Project Justification committees by identifying items and/or trends that could affect projects or in response to follow-up items from committee meetings. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Supports use of best practices, techniques and tools for project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics. 2. Assists senior portfolio analysts along with the financial organization to quantify project benefits in a way that will enable objective evaluation of projects against company objectives and aid project approval decision-making. 3. Assists in ensuring all required data for making decisions is complete and available. 4. Supports efforts to monitor and report status on milestone schedule commitments, resource commitments and constraints. 5. Assists with performing IT project portfolio analysis for the benefit of other TVA organizations. This includes the development of applicable financial and field evaluations and the final recommendations to the manager of the applicable organization. 6. Assists senior portfolio analysts in representing ADMIN, Information Services, on agency-wide projects and/or providing support to various committees (which often include several officers of the corporation) that have been established to resolve key business issues. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education –A B.S. Degree in a business related field; or equivalent education, training & experience. Experience –Three or more years in the field of project management, engineering, accounting, economics, mathematics, or business administration. Certification/License, etc — Project management related certifications desired. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities —Demonstrated knowledge in project management, accounting, financial analysis or risk analysis; a working knowledge of the principals of business administration, economics, mathematics, and the utility industry concepts. Must possess the necessary interpersonal skills and communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of TVA management, vendors, and other senior level professionals. Must be self-motivated and capable of performing most assignments with limited supervision.
