Plan and perform a wide variety of operations to install, repair, maintain, upgrade and relocate electrical systems and equipment, diagnose electrical problems and determine corrective action. Make sketches, provide samples or make list of supplies necessary to complete a job or project.
Inspect old equipment and determine whether reuse or replacement is necessary. Performs any other job duties as requested by Supervisor or Department Head.
Primary equipment responsibilities include; but are not limited to, intercom systems, fire alarm systems, medical gas alarm systems, Translogic controls, trash/linen chute controls, motor controls, lighting systems, electrical motors, emergency generators, power distribution normal/emergency systems, clock controls, uninterruptible power supply systems.
Shall have two (2) years technical training on electrical power systems or at least five (5) years work experience. Must be able to understand technical instructions, cooperate and coordinate work with other maintenance personnel or departments.
Must be familiar with equipment and building codes and NEC 70 National Electrical Code. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, distiguish colors and sounds, bend, kneel, and communicate clearly.
