This position encompasses all duties of a level I electrician. Performs a variety of general electrical repair, installation and replacement duties using standard testing instruments common to the electrical trade.

Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installations and repairs and troubleshoots electrical systems and subsystem. Electrical may be performed in a number of areas including: Heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarm systems and generator equipment and associated A TS equipment.

Work involves the technical application of electrical principles to ensure that work is completed in accordance with all applicable codes. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate hospital vehicles. This position may be required flexible shifts or rotating shifts. Perform maintenance and service as needed to support ongoing facility operations for the Facilities Department that are initiated through work requests or as dispatched by the engineering control room, call center, and or a member of management in accordance with Hospital standards Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED

Specific Requirements and Preferences

Trade school and extensive knowledge of electrical codes; 2 year technical degree in electrical technology or 4 year Electrical Engineering Degree. Must have completed apprenticeship program and have certificate of completion. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

Math Ability Level: 3 Basic algebra & Statistics

Human Relations Skill Level: 2

Important Computer Skills:
PC Software/Operating System Basic Standard Equipment Calculator, Copy Machine, and Fax Machine Strong knowledge of building Maintenance work order systems.

Required Licenses and Certifications

Valid Driver's License to operate hospital vehicles Req

Valid Journeymen's licensure Req

Functional Accountabilities

Test, Repair Electrical Distribution Systems
1.Examine and test such elements of systems as distribution panels, controls, circuit fixtures and motors to locate faults.
2.Repair, install, replace and test electrical circuit equipment and appliances.
3.Estimate quantities of materials.
4.Isolate defects in wiring switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter , and voltmeter .
5.Ability to read blueprints.

Install Electrical Systems/Circuits
1.Assemble, install and connect components of switchboards and distribution panels and connect them to transformers, lighting fixtures, or

other equipment.

Member of Emergency Team
1.Act a member of the internal and external disaster team.
2.Respond to all hospital emergencies to include but not limited to: fire alarms leaks, outages and elevator trap calls.

Material Management
1.Identify materials and tools needed to carry out job function; make sure purchase orders and reports are legible, accurate, complete and on

time.

Code Compliance
1.Make sure that all electrical work is completed within codes by the governing body having jurisdiction.
2.Establish and ensure compliance with work schedules.

Corrective and Preventive Maintenance
1.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
2.Troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems to determine functional problems and make repairs as needed.
3.Maintain corrective tickets, PM cards, project sheets and keep the status board up-to-date.

1.Operate building automation system as it relates to the electrical power distribution in the hospital.
