Electrical Assembler I - Final Assembly

  • Thursday 6:00 am

  • 4:30 pm; Fridays OT as needed

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for installing and completing the electrical components of our air handling units and parts according to specifications.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow electrical schematics containing both line and control voltage circuits.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical codes concerning both line and control voltage circuits and devices.

  • Basic knowledge of electromechanical devices and controls such as transformers, relays, switches, variable frequency drives, disconnects, and other devices.

  • Basic knowledge of PLC Devices and PLC programming and equipment and the ability to download custom programs to these devices.

  • Ability to run rigid and flexible conduit inside and outside of air handling units in accordance to drawings and specifications/current electrical codes.

  • Ability to run and terminate both line and control voltage wiring circuits in accordance to drawings and specifications/current electrical codes.

  • Ability to communicate with internal electrical engineering staff daily as well as with external customers as needed and represent the company in a professional manner.

  • Ability to be trained and certified to operate overhead crane and fork trucks while moving and assembling product.

  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • Commits to performing job duties in a manner that ensures a safe work environment.

  • Must be able to wear protective gear and equipment.

  • Willingly and cooperatively performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Education & Work Experience

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Similar work experience preferred

Job Summary As a member of the production staff, the Lead Electrician/Electrical Technician is responsible for the building assembling, installation and testing of electrical and control systems on custom OEM HVAC equipment. The right candidate will work closely with the Electrical Engineering team and the electrical assemblers in support of the identification, development, and implementation of best practices across the Electrical assembly process. Success will come in the form of well-established electrical assembly practices and knowledge, effective feedback to the Electrical Engineering design team, and an elimination in escaping defects and quality issues to our customers. * Drives effective electrical installation and assembly practices across our operations. * Provides leadership and mentoring to the electrical assembly team to ensure proper installation practices are observed. * Works with Electrical Engineering team to identify and resolve wiring and electrical system development problems. * Can read, comprehend, and trains others on electrical schematics containing both line and control voltage circuits. * Good Knowledge of electrical codes concerning both line and control voltage circuits and devices. * Leverages knowledge of electromechanical devices and controls such as transformers, relays, switches, variable frequency drives, disconnects, and other devices in the improvement of manufacturing processes. * Demonstrates the ability to perform various electrical assembly activities, including ability to run rigid and flexible conduit inside and outside of air handling units in accordance to drawings and specifications/current electrical codes, run and terminate both line and control voltage wiring circuits in accordance to drawings and specifications/current electrical codes. * Ability to communicate with internal electrical engineering staff daily as well as with external customers as needed and represent the company in a professional manner. * Ability to be trained and certified to operate overhead crane and fork trucks while moving and assembling product. * Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. * Commits to performing job duties in a manner that ensures a safe work environment. * Must be able to wear protective gear and equipment. * Willingly and cooperatively performs other related duties as assigned by management. * Works with all types of high voltage power. * Inspect and examine the equipment to detect and investigate irregularities emits diagnostic rule and the electrical or electronic failures for the whole building. * Performs the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment manufacturing, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic. * Monitors production processes and focuses on process improvements. * Instructs and assists group members in interpretation of shop orders, job procedures, specifications, quality, safety, housekeeping and 5S requirements. * Participates in onboarding and orientation procedures to ensure success of new hires. * Checks all work to ensure quality standards are met. * Provides input to Department Manager in performance evaluations. * Timely and accurately communicates operational status to manager and peers. * Follow established chain of command in resolution of issues and problem-solving process. * Supports all corporate process improvement efforts and programs. * Leading by example, commits to performing job duties in a manner that ensures a clean and safe work environment for all employees in all operations. * Ensures that all employees are given the opportunity to be successful by providing them with the correct tools and correct materials. * Recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. * Notifies Department Manager of all needed equipment repairs or upgrades. * Ensures that all employees are treated equally. * Ensure that all employees are using all required PPE as well as following all safety practices. * Communicate with Department Manager regarding work related accidents, illnesses and general safety concerns in a timely manner. * Maintains an attitude which consistently represents the organizational culture, including: the mission, vision and core attributes. * Other Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager. * Supports "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination. Job Qualifications * 5+ years of related electrical assembly or electrician experience in a manufacturing setting. * High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. * Knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment. * A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. * Ability to read and interpret drawings. * Ability to read and interpret production schedules. Preferred qualifications * Associates degree in electrical related field or other related technical school program * Possesses current Journeyman Electrical License or Electrical Contractor License certification. * Proficiency with the National Electrical Code * Strong aptitude and demonstrated competency working with electrical/mechanical components and systems found in industrial facilities. * Ability to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectively * Familiarity and experience with automation and/or instrumentation control wiring. * Ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities.
