General Summary

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.

  • Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.

  • Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.

  • Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.

  • Use of a variety of electrician's hand tools and test & measurement instruments.

  • Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.

  • Assist others as part of the maintenance team as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Must be licensed/certified by the State of Kansas for his/her specific trade at the full-performance start date.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required.

  • Rounded training and experience, usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship, licensed Journeyman or Masters

  • Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.

  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Answer, record all trouble calls, generate work orders for O&M and HAS as needed. * Process, verify for accuracy and close completed work orders into DMLLS. * Daily data entry into computer database and print various types of reports as needed * Maintain JC preventative maintenance documents accurately. * Locking and unlocking of exterior doors. * After hours Unlocks of doors for Medical Center personnel with appropriate authorization. * Control and manage service vendor access into the facility. * Monitoring of critical alarm systems including HVAC, Fire Alarm, Medical Gas, Nurse Call, Pneumatic Tube System, CCTV and Door access. * Adjust BAS temperatures, identify discrepancies and report to appropriate personnel * Evaluates alarm conditions to determine necessary response actions and in response to computer output instructions or error conditions, applies standard operating/corrective procedure. * Notify technical support personnel as required and refer problems which do not respond to preplanned procedure to supervisory personnel. * Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent * Knowledge of various computer software, data entry, and ability to generate reports * General mechanical knowledge needed * Work requires the application of experience and judgment in searching for, interpreting, selecting, or coding items to be entered from a variety of source documents * Ability to enter data at a rate of 50 wpm and work independently * Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays * Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds Work Environment Work is performed indoors. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, lifting and occasional walking to perform duties.
