Electrician And Instrumentation Controls Engineer

Piper Companies is actively seeking a Electrician and Instrumentation Controls Engineer for a manufacturing facility that is brand new and going to be the largest end-to-end cell manufacturing facility in Northern America The Electrician and Instrumentation Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding the design and implementation of instrumentation for large-scale biopharmaceutical projects, located on the outskirts of Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities of the Electrician and Instrumentation Controls Engineer:

• Review and approve submittals for Architectural and Engineering (A&E) firms for instrumentation and controls designs.

• Provide technical guidance to the Engineer of Record on instrumentation and controls concepts during the design phase.

• Ensure consistency and coordination across instrumentation and controls design solutions.

• Review and approve purchasing and installation specifications for instrumentation and controls.

• Participate in constructability reviews with the site construction team.

• Provide input on technical scope for tendering of instrumentation and controls packages.

• Oversee the quality of design and installations to meet project and regulatory requirements.

• Support field verification and startup activities including Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV).

Qualifications of the Electrician and Instrumentation Controls Engineer:

• 10-15+ years of experience in individual contributor/project leadership roles

• 3+ years in Pharma

• Electrical and engineering competency for 480V and down

• Expert understanding of NFPA regulations

• Experience with walkdowns, troubleshooting, design reviews, and cost schedules.

• B.S./M.S. in a Engineering discipline, or a related field

Compensation of the Electrician and Instrumentation Controls Engineer:

• Competitive salary, $70-$80/hr with flexibility for the right candidate
