What You'll Do:
engaged in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls and equipment
motors, appliances, fans, transformers, heating and cooling equipment, fire and other alarm/security systems, elevators
and switches)
Use of hand & power tools
Determines and completes material cost estimates
Orders, procures and/or purchases supplies and materials from vendors and/or contractors
Reads blueprints and/or schematic diagrams
Maintains tool count of tools used by inmates (e.g., completes tool control forms daily, maintains strict inventory of tools)
Performs other maintenance and/or miscellaneous duties (e.g., performs semi-skilled carpentry, painting, plumbing and/
or water treatment)
Maintains inventory of electrical supplies
Ensures compliance with security regulations
Completes reports, participates in detection and confiscation of contraband
Operates snow and ice removal and grass cutting equipment
Operates heavy equipment (e.g., backhoe, trencher, forklift)
Serves on institutional committees
Attends training, seminars and/or meetings as required
