Job Summary

The Electrical Testing Engineer will be a key player in the testing of commercial helicopter Electrical Systems by developing software scripts to exercise the system, and evaluate functional integration for flight test and production aircraft.

Job Description:

  • Test Helicopter Electrical System suite by developing software scripts to exercise system and evaluate functional integration for flight test and production aircraft

  • Perform all engineering activities in accordance with the Systems Planning documents

  • Data entry of systems requirements into database (requirements management and test case management database)

  • Identify issues through testing and create Problem Reports (PRs) in database

  • Perform formal reqts, design, code, test, and results reviews for certification credit

  • Flight Test data analysis

  • Requirements-based test cases, procedures, scripts, and expected results Formal requirements, design, code, test, and results review documentation Traceability documentation

  • Weekly Status Reports

Requirements:

  • Software script writing, analog and digital signal measurements, 'ARINC 429 and RS-485 digital data bus analysis

  • Experience with System Integration Lab activity is a plus, including design, build, and test of Systems Integration Labs, software, and hardware-in-the-loop testing of Flight Control, Avionics, and Electrical.

  • Experience with System and software design is a plus, including requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing in desktop simulation environment

and systems integration labs, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification is strongly desired

  • Helicopter experience
  • BS /MS in Electrical Engineering

VIEW JOBS 9/1/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-30T00:00 Electrical Controls Engineer Location: Arlington, TX Duration: 9 months Description: Reports to: Plant Maintenance and Engineering Manager Typical Duties: * Able to design, develop, and streamline various aspects of electrical controls systems, general electrical circuitry, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and machinery in the plant with use of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electric, HMI Software/ Design, and/or E-Plan * -Provide direction and be able to execute the programming for, installation of, and technical troubleshooting support of PLC ladder-logic based hardware and software applications throughout the plant * Provide controls and systems engineering support for emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production peak and off-peak run times as needed * Able to work with cross functional groups, as well as work effectively with Plant Engineers and Maintenance Supervisors to complete projects on time and within schedule. * Able to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, machinery assembly drawings, create component hardware BOMs, and determine additional system/hardware components for the design of electrical control systems and circuitry diagrams to perform required maintenance and service * Able to diagnose process and machinery problems utilizing root cause failure analysis techniques, replace or repair equipment parts, test and make adjustments as required * Assist with and provide guidance for the compliance of plant safety regulations such as (Arch Flash Electrical Safety- NFPA-70E; LOTO, Energized Work Permits, Safe Cell Entry). * Prior related plant (JIT) shop-floor electrical controls systems support is a plus Required Education and Job Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field * 3 - 5+ years of Electrical Controls/System Engineering industry experience * Strong skills in ladder logic, preferably Allen-Bradley Systems; PLC5, SLC and ControLogix 5000-5580. * Strong Skills in HMI Design, Preferably FactoryTalk View and Ignition; WonderWare.
