What does this role look like?

As the Electrical Systems Engineer for an Air Force strategic deterrence program that helps to protect our nation every day, you will be responsible for electrical system integration products, collaborating with other engineers to ensure the electronics are correctly and efficiently architected, documented, and integrated internally across the Re-entry Vehicle (RV), Arming & Fuzing System (AFS), test / Support Equipment (SEQ), and externally with silo control equipment and the missile payload.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

  • Own the system logical, power, and grounding diagrams and system schematic, ensuring architectural appropriateness and electrical and logical compatibility across internal and external interfaces.

  • Manage development of and changes to interface control documentation, and be the technical, first-hand knowledgeable point of contact for these interfaces with LM's designers, program management, and our customers.

  • Own the telemetry frame definition for flight test vehicles, including requirements for the encoder.

  • Support peer customer and collaborative program meetings.

  • Ensure Electromagnetic Interference, Nuclear Hardness, and Nuclear Surety mitigations are defined and implemented by collaborating with subject matter experts and the hardware designers.

  • Ensure the RV, AFS, and SEQ cable and grounding designs, module and subsystem electrical designs, interfaces, and worst case electrical analyses are compliant with requirements and LM Command Media.

  • Review acceptance and qualification test plans and data for completeness and efficiency vs. requirements.

  • Support electrical hardware integration and issue resolution, and development of the AFS software interface control document for targeting software.

  • Provide represent data to support execution of Engineering Review, Configuration Control, Program Management, and Failure Review Boards.

  • Articulate vision of electrical system engineering for the program.

  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

  • Experienced with electrical subsystem or system integration and electrical circuit design

  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on experience and working knowledge of physical and logical layer electrical data interfaces

  • Ability to self-direct own work while actively collaborating in a multi-discipline team

  • Familiarity with communications and signaling protocols

  • Experience designing high-reliability flight electronics

  • Experience with analog, digital, RF, or power conditioning electronic circuit design or analysis

  • Experience defining and analyzing test flight vehicle telemetry needs, data rates, sensors, interfaces, and telemetry frame composition

  • Experience creating interface and interconnect diagrams

  • Experience with Engineering Review Board (ERB), Configuration Control Board (CCB), Failure Review Board (FRC) preparation, presentation, and review

  • Experience as a customer technical interface

  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting electronic hardware

  • Experience with hardware failure investigation

  • Familiarity with schematic capture and simulation tools

  • Familiarity with design and integration of custom test equipment / test racks

  • Familiarity with cable or harness design

  • Ability to produce and present informal status briefings to designers, program management, and customer

  • Ability to travel on occasion

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
