Electrical Superintendent

Overview

Buzzi Unicem USA, a major US cement manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team at our Chattanooga, TN Plan. The position will report to the Maintenance Manager. We believe our employees are our greatest asset. Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for all electrical and electronic engineering, and maintenance functions at the plant.

• Maintains the plant in current status for electronic and electrical system trends and technical advancements for the industry.

• Assess new technology for modification and value to the plant process and systems reliability goals

• Monitors the plant's interests regarding government regulations, safety and environmental concerns with respect to electronic and electrical issues.

• Provides key management information and technical expertise in plant budget planning, monitoring and process efficiency requirements

• Performs/supervises IT functions at the plant for Network systems and corporate interface.

• Supervises Electrical Supervisor and Automation Technician.

• Recommends and implements electrical / electronic modifications and improvements throughout the plant.

• Provides emergency response to plant power, control and informational network issues as required for a 24 hour operation.

• Available for weekend On Call operation on a rotating on-call basis and work overtime as required.

• Inspects reported malfunctioning equipment, diagnoses the problem, determines and performs proper corrective actions required to return equipment to service, including notifying other personnel within the maintenance department required to repair the equipment.

• Maintains records of repairs made to malfunctioning equipment, including time and parts required to effect repair.

• Gathers data required for predictive maintenance programs, including data required for both on-site and off-site analysis.

• Ensures that plant documentation is kept up to date.

• Schedules and provides developmental training for salary and hourly personnel within the department.

• Control and Manage Costs within the Electrical department for parts, inventory, and daily supplies.

• Exchanges information daily with other maintenance personnel and maintenance supervisors regarding current operations conditions and problems incurred.

• Observe and direct the execution of task for Electrical Supervisors, Analyzer / Instrumentation technicians, Electrical / Instrumentation technicians, and Electrical / Maintenance personnel in the plant.

• Promotes safe work practices within the Electrical department.

• Be able to read, produce, and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Preferred.A minimum of 5 years' experience as a supervisor in an industrial environment.Ability to read, produce and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.Experience maintaining; high voltage and medium voltage equipment, transformers, switchgear, breakers, starters, D.C. drives, variable frequency drives, safety devices, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Good organization, human relations and decision making abilities.

Ability to analyze situation accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.

Experience with SKM software, Rockwell Automation Control Logix, Factorytalk Historian, Viewpoint, Vantagepoint, View SE, Studio 5000, PLC5, and AutoCAD.

Experience with various brands of Variable Frequency Drives, Medium Voltage Drives and DC drives.
