Position: Electrical Scheduling Manager

Position Summary:
The Electrical Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing the project schedules for electrical installations and maintenance. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the quality standards set by the organization. The Electrical Scheduling Manager works closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to facilitate effective planning and execution of electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Development and Management:
Develop detailed project schedules for electrical installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Responsible for bid/proposal schedules, baseline schedules, schedule updates and time impact analysis updates.
Utilize scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera 6) to create and update project timelines.
Monitor and track progress against the project schedules, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain master schedule for project tasks including preparation, updating and communicating project schedules to team members, management and the client.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and field personnel to ensure alignment of schedules with project requirements.
Communicate schedule updates and changes to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
Facilitate regular scheduling meetings to review project progress and address any issues.
Interfaces with clients, attends regular construction meetings and provides statistical reports.
Provides project and company management with the necessary tools for the project schedule control.
Analyzes, evaluates, forecasts and reports schedules status against an established baseline.
Collects and reports progress, evaluates schedule variances, develops work around plans with the team and coordinates the resolution of variances.
Develops and maintains an established system to show the hierarchy of schedules; keeps project and company management full informed.
Resource Allocation:
Determine resource requirements (labor, materials, equipment) for scheduled activities.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization and avoid conflicts.
Adjust resource allocation as necessary to address changes in project scope or timelines.
Risk Management:
Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation plans.
Implement strategies to manage and mitigate risks to ensure project schedules remain on track.
Monitor risk factors continuously and adjust schedules as necessary to minimize impact.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling documentation and records.
Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Analyze past project schedules and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance scheduling processes.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in scheduling techniques and software.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. PMP certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within the electrical engineering or construction industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), MS Office Suite. Familiarity with electrical systems and construction methodologies.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications: PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
Work Environment:
The role may require travel to project sites.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
