  • Assist in developing and assessing defect prevention strategies and processes for development, production, and deployment of hardware.

  • Assist in performing Quality Assurance (QA) analyses to ensure hardware systems being acquired by the USG can be produced by controlled manufacturing processes at manageable risk to cost, schedule, or user satisfaction.

  • Conduct special studies and analyze broad QA issues common to all USG acquisition programs, including discrete investigations of particular issues using such methods and tools as process variability reduction, statistical process/quality control, defect prevention, metrology, nondestructive evaluation, QA, or automated inspection.

  • Assist in reviewing and assessing contractor QA planning and progress.

  • Evaluate the quality system of the weapon system prime/subcontractor or depot, to the degree it impacts the system being acquired and assess the quality planning, discipline, and effectiveness, including weapon system prime/subcontractor use of advanced quality tools, techniques, and systems.

  • Assist in analyzing weapon system prime/subcontractor strategies, plans, and activities to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Assist in identification and analyses of major cost/risk trade-offs and lifecycle cost considerations.

  • Support quality audits to include hardware audits.

  • Assist in hardware quality evaluations by disassembly, inspection, and testing of a representative unit of production to the assembly level.

  • Provide assistance preparing a description of broad quality strategies for defect prevention covering product and process design, production, and deployment.

  • Determine appropriate program QA requirements and prepare descriptions of tasks for inclusion in the contract PWS.

  • Provide QA inputs to initial test planning for hardware.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school

  • Minimum of 15 years' functional area experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance; US Citizenship required

  • Understanding of DoD, AF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Skype/Lync), Adobe Acrobat, and applications for access to the world wide web including Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • Knowledge of aircraft electrical systems/components

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school

VIEW JOBS 6/10/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-09-08T00:00 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Provides quality assurance inspections for electrical manufacturing DUTIES * Progressively ensures efficiency in quality and customer service/satisfaction. * Performs a variety of routine to complex inspections for incoming, in-process and final assemblies to ensure compliance to documentation, process standards, and/or customer requirements. * Proficient on interpretation of configured drawings, bill of materials list, quality control specifications, contractual requirements, technical data packages, tech manuals, and oral/written instructions * Inspect in-process and finished products using calibrated inspection measurement tools; calipers, micrometers, fluke multi-meter, pin retention tool, tape measure, torque wrenches, and torque screwdrivers. * Utilizes web based SharePoint, Deltek CostPoint, and Cognos for document management and storage. * Generates Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Actions, and Preventative Actions for continual improvement. * Ability to inspect printed circuit boards to J-STD-001 and Cable/Wiring Harnesses to IPC-WHMA-A 620 or as required by Customer requirements. * Prepares reports and maintains records. * Root Cause Analysis and Mistake Proofing. * Other Duties as Assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * High school diploma or equivalent * Requires at least 1 years' experience in the area of Electrical Quality Assurance inspection. * Knowledgeable experience in prototyping and agile manufacturing industry. This includes working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 quality system environment as well as IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) and WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) Standards, ANSI/ESD S20.20 (Standard for Development of an ESD Control Program) ESD controlled environment, and requirements for work environment safety. * Must have been or currently accredited in IPC J-STD-001 and WHMA-A-620. * This position falls under Executive Order 14042, and requires fully vaccinated status by January 18, 2022 or except in limited circumstances where an exception is approved due to disability or sincerely held religious beliefs * Ability to read, write, and communicate in English PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
