Qualifications:

Electrical Project Engineer II

  • This position is eligible for a hiring incentive of a minimum of $10,000 for external hires only.

Lead a team of Electrical Systems, Mechanical Packaging, Electrical Circuit Design, Parts & Reliability, Radiation, and Production Engineers in the design, fabrication, test, and integration of ground and space based electronics subsystems.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead cross functional teams within an engineering environment.

  • Responsible for system cost, schedule, technical, and personnel management across multiple projects or at an IPT level.

  • Provide and communicate understanding of both the technical and programmatic aspects of a project to the project team as well as the customer.

  • Manage complex subcontracts and support new business proposal opportunities.

  • Work on projects that include high reliability electronics for NASA, DoD, and Commercial Space applications.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.

  • Demonstrated successful management of electronics development efforts including meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals.

  • Experience leading cross functional teams and able to partition technical work as well as provide technical guidance.

  • Hands-on experience in space flight electronics design, fabrication, and test.

  • Experience managing all aspects of electrical engineering projects from start to finish.

  • Able to provide alternatives to requirements that drive system cost and schedule.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, oral presentation skills, conflict management and an ability to lead group discussions.

  • Cost and schedule management with earned value reporting along with resource, risk and subcontract management.

  • Experience with "flight space qualified" electronic programs and radiation-hardened environments to include knowledge of EEE parts for space flight applications and detailed understanding of associated screening and qualification processes.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, production floor, clean room, outdoors or remote research environment.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Successful candidate will have completed a government national security clearance investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. *U.S. Citizenship is Required. Qualifications: Senior Engineering Manager – Electrical Engineering Program Execution What you'll do: * Oversight of electronics execution and day-to-day electronics operations for all electrical disciplines in Electrical Solutions group of engineers who perform full lifecycle electronics development: architecting, designing and developing electrical interfaces and electronics hardware and harnesses for space, air, and ground applications. * Be the POC (Point of Contact) and work directly with program managers across various strategic business units to proactively communicate and provide solutions to all risks – programmatic, logistics, infrastructure, resource related * Take full ownership of all EE Cost actuals database/tools – current ongoing programs and future programs * Support EE Architecture/Avionics Proposal Generation for new Business development * Oversee EE Test Facilities and manage all STE / CAPEX/AFE efforts performed at the ES org level * Support hiring and training of all EPE/IPT leads for both in-house and subcontracted efforts for electronics and harness efforts. * Define, secure, organize, and direct staff, resources, standards, processes, procedures, and tools essential for the successful execution of all programs. * Co-ordinate bi-weekly PMO meetings with all electrical project engineers to ensure that all programs/efforts are on track to be successful in meeting their milestone expectations * Support Electrical Solutions Strategic planning activities and how they map and play in the overall engineering Strat plan. * Provide outstanding leadership, direction, and guidance that ensures successful program execution in accordance with budget, schedule, contract, Statement of Work (SOW), and Technical Specifications across the enterprise for Electrical Solutions including delivering successfully on unplanned/ adhoc efforts. * May work part-time providing direct support to programs. * Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. What you'll need: * BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience. * Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. * Degree in electrical engineering preferred. * TS/SCI required. * A history of performance illustrating skills in being a self -starter, having excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, ability to work independently and with a team. * Ability to apply sound leadership and management principles to an organization of high performing engineers developing electronics throughout the full lifecycle from proposal through delivery. * Relevant work experience with end-to-end electronics development and production. * Strong know how of cost, schedule, technical and risk management of custom and production type electronics. * Experience with component engineering aspects for space, military, tactical and commercial needs with focus on "reuse", "standardization" and "built-in quality" at various levels of hardware/product development, procurement and fabrication. * Working knowledge of electrical hardware quality principles for space and ground applications. * Knowledge of parts, parts procurement, radiation and reliability. * Ability to operate at the system level and interface to all engineering disciplines and organizations. * Experience demonstrating knowledge of electrical engineering with DoD, NASA and commercial/operational space customers. * Prior experience working in and with controlled, classified security environments is highly desirable.
