Job Overview

Perform electrical project and controls engineering duties to facilitate the improvement of existing test equipment and the construction of new diesel engine testing facilities. Perform planning, design, and overseeing the construction, installation, and maintenance of Engineering Laboratory test cells, building structures, facilities infrastructure, and test equipment.


  • Perform test cell & plant infrastructure engineering functions.

  • Specify new test cell equipment and facilities / infrastructure systems.

  • Provide estimating, planning, design, and implementation of the construction, installation, and integration of building infrastructure, diesel engine test cells, test cell ventilation systems, chillers, combustion & dilution air units, and other associated test cell support equipment.

  • Support technical projects from concept to completion within a team of technical support staff.

  • Apply controls technology to new & existing processes to provide optimal facilities and test equipment solutions.

  • Initiate, plan & coordinate work with plant project & facilities skilled tradesman, supervisors, outside contractors & service technicians to support large projects and facilities maintenance.

  • Provide technical assistance and support to engineering test operations as needed to solve problems related to the plant infrastructure and facility processes.

  • Support Engineering Lab Durability, Performance, Emissions and Engineering groups with effective participation in teams and cross-functional groups

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology OR an Associates degree with 1 year of related experience OR 4 years of related experience required An attached resume is required Computer

  • Computer Skills:
    Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD required.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others required.

  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards required.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create drawings of building, facility infrastructure, and testing equipment required.

  • Ability to work in industrial work environment of an engine test facility required
