Responsibilities and Duties

Be able to read, interpret and comprehend electrical and mechanical prints

Have a good working knowledge of safety circuits, relays, interlocks and E-sop circuits

Be able to test and troubleshoot electrical components and equipment including carton formers, conveyor systems, MCC cabinets, lid closers, over wrappers, case packers, vision systems, labelers, taper, case sealers, coders and printers

Be able to troubleshoot micro controllers like Telemecanique, Omron, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Keyence, Siemens PLCs with the ability to identify correct I/O points as well as match the addressing with machine schematic

Be able to design, draw schematic, install components and wire up all of the following:

Relay logic circuits

Contactors

Overload relays

Timers and sensors

Be able to troubleshoot AC/DC drives and set up new ones

Be able to replace old relay circuits, stepper modules and obsolete electronic logic cards with PLCs

Have a good understanding of basic physics and be able to calculate parameters and how they relate to elements such as force, torque, power, speed, pressure and wattage

Able to determine the size of materials needed by calculation such as motor size, gearbox, fuse, breaker, disconnects, overload relays, wire size, sprocket, sheave size, cylinder, valves, tubing and others.

Good understanding of pneumatic systems and controls

Qualifications

High school diploma.

Excellent hands-on electrical skills

Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Must have good problem solving skills.

Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Must be able to stand on feet throughout an 8-hour shift.

Proficient use of PC and software.

Manage and administrate Corporate capital, Overhead and Government funded infrastructure projects budgets. Manage design and support construction activities. Communicate with other engineering disciplines, internal customers and A&E's to ensure projects and systems are cost effective, within budget, meet the desired design criteria and schedule guidelines. Review applicable building codes and develop a list of criteria to be reflected in the projects. Prepare reports, drawings and specifications for relatively complex projects making appropriate recommendations and design development decisions on small or large projects. Provide technical review of documents. Provide capacity/demand analysis of utility systems and planning to support growth when required. Provide analysis of critical utility systems to understand risks and develop solutions based on assessment. Provide technical support to the Facilities and Maintenance organization as a system expert over time. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering * Minimum 5 years' design or hands on experience with electrical systems * Professional Engineer registration or EIT with expecting licensing within 5 years * Experienced in CAD drafting (Examples - Microstation/AutoCAD/Catia) * Project Management experience Desired Skills: Aeronautical (Office, Laboratory and Manufacturing) Facility Design Experience. Must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of Electrical design engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions. Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Ability to take the initiative and drive for results. Knowledge of LEED projects or certification is a plus. Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, OSHA Subpart R, and OSHA Subpart S.
