Job Description
Sealed Air has an immediate opening for a FINAL ASSEMBLER located in Ayer, MA. We are looking for a creative, energetic professional who will be responsible for electro-mechanical assembly in our industrial equipment manufacturing facility in Ayer, MA. Sealed Air provides packaging products and machinery to our customers along with service agreements. This is a First Shift position: Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting
Assemble conveyors, equipment, and integrate sub-assemblies and sub-components
Read blueprints, schematics, and wire run lists
Wiring, set up, and adjustment of industrial equipment
Initiate production startup and validates equipment
Works with engineering to apply modifications based on customer requests
Assembles motor controls for PLC
Writing and operating PLCs and HMIs
Manage time to meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
Assemble using verbal communication when prints are not available
Follow SOPs
Communicate with all levels of co-workers to assure continuity in production.
Read, write and speak English
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts
Primary experience with PCB, cable harness, and soldering is not applicable to this position
Qualifications
Experience in mechanical assembly and troubleshooting required; assembly of capital equipment preferred
Experience in the proper use of hand tools (i.e. torque wrenches, crimpers, drills)
Experience, understanding and knowledge of basic hardware (metric and standard)
Experience assembling motor controls for PLC.
Knowledge of writing and operating PLCs and HMIs
Ability to manage time to meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Minimum of 5 years experience in electro-mechanical assembly (please note this is not "electronics"
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to communicate with all levels of co-workers to assure continuity in production
Ability to read, write and speak English is required
Self-motivated with a stable employment history
Primary experience with PCB, cable harness, and soldering is not applicable to this position
