  • Develop a comprehensive commissioning schedule from the base line CPM for all EI&C systems start-ups and commissioning activities.

  • Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the EI&C commissioning.

  • Act as McCarthy liaison with Owner's commissioning agent, owner, and EI&C subcontractors throughout duration of the project to ensure EI&C systems are commissioned correctly and on schedule. (from construction through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner including warranty follow-up)

  • Assist Scheduling department with developing detailed CPM schedules for all EI&C start-up, test & balance, BMS controls, commissioning and related activities, including cost and resource loading.

  • Manage the subcontracts for the BMS controls and Test and Balance trades as well as assisting with commissioning related coordination with other trades.

  • Work with Superintendents on project logistics and temporary facility requirements for your assigned subcontractors.

  • Review and approve material and equipment for EI&C systems prior to installation

  • Monitor the installation and start-up of EI&C systems and commissioning with Engineer, Commissioning Agent, Inspectors, & Owner's representatives.

  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff

  • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed by Project Manager, Project Director, Owner's Rep, Architect, etc.

  • Represent McCarthy in regards to the EI&C process at weekly Owner's meetings

  • Supervise, develop and mentor EI&C Project Engineers, if applicable


  • 7+ years of experience in Construction/EI&C Coordination

  • Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical plumbing and low-voltage systems

  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering a plus

  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices required

  • Experienced dealing with EI&C subcontracts and subcontractors

  • Central Utility Plant experience required.

The Project Controls Specialist is accountable for timely and accurate input of data, thorough and accurate review and analysis of defined cost and schedule elements, and timely and accurate document production. Position Summary: The duties of a Project Controls Specialist are set out below, but also include any other reasonable activity as directed from time to time. * Develop, monitor, track, analyze, forecast, and report on project budgets, estimates to complete, commitments, expenditures, project progress and productivity, work plans and schedules, projects cost at completion, WBS cost coding, subcontracts, and change management. * Preparation of spreadsheets and a wide variety of routine cost analyses, cash flow, and other cost related evaluations * Support Project Managers with quarterly forecast on projects. Preliminary preparation in IPCS. * Review of expenditure details, identifying incorrect charges, and commencement of the charge correction process * Review process and track sub consultant invoices on various projects * Input or update activity data, logic, resource, progress, expenditure information and review of activity durations and logic * Provide support for project Price Tool preparation and Auto PAP submissions * Coordinate activities and services with corporate support groups including human resources, accounting, legal, contracts management, procurement and safety * Support change management systems and the established processes are implemented and followed. * Identify potential project problems early, report issues and problems to operations leadership, and work with project teams to address and implement recovery plans. * Set-up, monitor & report earned value progress measurement systems for projects, including analysis based on input from project leads * Produce various planning and scheduling reports and analysis * Printing and distribution of technical and administrative reports, assembly of monthly report packages * Other project controls duties as assigned #BIA * BS or BA in Cost Management, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting or Finance preferred. * At least 3 years experience in a project controls or related function is required * Experience with IPCS / EcoSys is required * Previous experience working on buildings and infrastructure type of projects is required * Proficient computer skills using MS Office tools.
