PAY - $28.50 / hr. and $.50 shift differential for nights

LOCATION 1601 W. McKay Street, Frontenac, KS 66763

POSITION SUMMARY - Performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair, justification, modification, installation and maintenance of complex instrumentation and control systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write, implement, and troubleshoot PLC code on new and existing equipment

  • Participate and coach others to maintain power and controls equipment

  • Lead improvement projects and plant control upgrades

  • Ability to operate high speed making, packing, and other production related equipment

  • Make personal safety and safe operations a priority

  • Maintain a clean work area and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices by following all quality specifications and performing quality inspections

  • Know and use terminology and functions of machine components

  • Quickly and effectively trouble shoot and repair plant equipment

  • Develop and update electrical schematics for systems using AutoCAD

  • Effectively coordinate sub-contractors performing technical work

  • Help by being on or leading SQMS pillar teams

  • Lead the maintenance techs on the same shift as they work

  • Participate in all required shift meetings. 6:10 6:30 shift change meeting and 8:30 DDS meetings

  • Be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift and be able to work overtime when required by business needs

  • Other duties as required, in order to meet business needs

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Two-year technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred

  • Three years' experience supporting machine control systems preferred

  • Solid understanding of Rockwell PLC hardware, PLC programming, VFDs, and HMI

  • Solid understanding of servos, encoders, linear actuators, pneumatic equipment, and sensors

  • Must be able to read and write English

  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

  • Push / Pull up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis

  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather

  • Able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time

McKay Street, Frontenac, KS 66763 POSITION SUMMARY - The Quality Assurance Technician has responsibility for the chemical and physical testing of incoming materials, packaging, and finished product to assure compliance to The J.M. Smucker Company quality requirements and regulatory guidelines. Data is interpreted and effectively communicated to plant personnel in order to assure process control. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Collect and analyze ingredients and product samples * Interpret, communicate, and enter test data in an effective, accurate and timely manner * Effectively operate and maintain laboratory equipment * Responsible for plant-wide cleanup functions * Verify critical Quality and Food Safety tasks as they are completed to ensure compliance * Actively support all plant goals and objectives including Quality, Safety, and Production * Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) * Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner * Assigned shift attendance is required * Ability to work as part of a team and assist fellow employees as needed QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
