This position is in Idaho Falls, Rexburg and the surrounding area. The specific city this position will be based out of will depend upon the residence of the successful applicant. The anticipated work schedule is 40 hours per week, with some occasional overtime required.

  • Conducting inspections or reviews of activities, including determining compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and laws;

  • Providing technical advice and assistance in best practices and corrective actions;

  • Overseeing implementation of safety codes, regulations, and laws;

  • Conducting on-site inspections, investigating complaints, and seeking compliance with regulations and safety standards;

  • Assembling and preparing background information and documentation regarding noncompliance activities, code violations, safety reviews, and licensure discrepancies;

  • Providing technical expertise to building officials, building representatives, contractors, and the public;

  • Assisting management and legal staff in addressing violations and possibly testifying in court or in administrative hearings;

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Physical Activities:

  • Walking throughout the day;

  • Crawling in and out of confined spaces including attics and crawl spaces;

  • Climbing series of stairs in multistory buildings;

  • Climbing ladders up to 14 feet high;

  • Driving a state vehicle throughout the day;

  • Moving building material weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Experience:

  • analyzing data for the purposes of making recommendations;

  • operating a personal computer;

  • analyzing data and preparing written reports.

  • Valid driver's license.

MQ Specialties:

  • Licensure in Idaho as a Journeyman Electrician, and at least four years' experience as a Journeyman Electrician in accordance with Idaho Code, Section 54-1019;
  • Experience interpreting building diagrams, plans, and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous certification as an Electrical Inspector is not required but may improve your standing as an applicant. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to obtain certification through the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses within six months of hire.

This team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our MFC facility with every Friday off.</p><p>Responsibilities Include:</p><ul><li><p>Provide quality inspection support at INL to ensure compliance with DOE, Company, and customer specific requirements applicable to Quality Inspection and Non-Destructive Examination.</p></li><li><p>Perform inspections on nuclear facility, maintenance, fabrication, and construction projects.</p></li><li><p>Act as quality program inspector technical authority representative both in the field and at suppliers facilities.</p></li><li><p>Provide assistance to Quality Engineers during design reviews and inspection planning.</p></li><li><p>Provide first-line inspection and testing in support of nuclear maintenance, and similar in-house activities.</p></li><li><p>Provide Inspector Certification activities in support of the INL Inspector Certification Program.</p></li><li><p>Perform technical reviews to maintain company level inspection procedures are accurate and correct.</p></li><li><p>Perform in process surveillance of complex wide program work to verify compliance with company quality program procedures.</p></li><li><p>Maintain required training as per Individual Training Plan (ITP)</p></li><li><p>Provide technical expertise in NDE methods to support work activities requiring a qualified inspector.</p></li><li><p>Verify and/or witness operations and perform inspections and surveillances as called out in plans, procedures, or work control documents. Ensure documentations of such activities is complete and accurate and all requirements are met.</p></li><li><p>Provide support to the control of items including cleaning and inspection operations. This includes drawing and specification reviews to ensure inspectable attributes of items.</p></li><li><p>Provide support in various administrative functions such as non-conformance reporting, tracking, trending, assessments and records management.</p></li><li><p>Provide mentorship to peers and program, project, facility management in providing innovative, functioning methods for meeting quality requirements. Provide training to peers and work organizations in quality technical aspects of the INL Quality program.</p></li><li><p>Maintain proficiency and required training and qualifications for related QAI functions and participate in professional development activities.</p></li><li><p>Become familiar with and comply with ESH&amp;Q program requirements. Be knowledgeable of emergency action policies and procedures. Support the Employee Safety Team and Behavioral Based Safety programs.
