This position will have a significant role in supporting current and future cybersecurity products. The prospective applicant will work as a key member of the advanced development team to support all phases within the hardware lifecycle, concept new design and support proof of concepts that will drive advancements within Owl. Emphasis will be on improving overall product performance and quality.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Define systems and board hardware architecture based on requirements, and oversee subcontracts/ engineering resources design, build, and verify actual hardware designs.
Understand current Owl designs and recommend changes based on performance, function, or EOL status.
Advise Product Managers to develop and maintain hardware products through full lifecycle.
Must be agile and able to improvise, may be tasked with creating quick functional proof-of-concepts. Must be comfortable performing functional validation, compliance testing, and analyzing results. Must be able to construct test plans, compliance reports to verify and validate product and fixes.
Perform root cause analysis on product RMAs to identify failures, recommend corrective action, and generate reports to show trends. FMEA and MTBF calculation experience a plus.
Ability to build relationships with vendors, contractors and regulatory agencies, including contract cost estimation and management of deliverables.
Organize and document validation documents for production/accreditation.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Education
BSEE or BSECE with related work experience
Advanced degree a plus
Experience
Minimum 3 years work experience in electrical and or computer engineering
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to capture, validate, and review schematic and circuit drawings
Read and communicate Wiring and or CAD drawings to team
Prior schematic design is required and PCB design rule understanding is a plus.
SolidWorks design experience a plus.
Ability to facilitate information collection, documentation, and process reviews with technical and business subject matter experts.
Ability to work independently or within a team environment
Additional Competencies/Requirements
Must be good communicator and team player
Must be able to transition from projects quickly and balance tasks effectively
Must be able to obtain/maintain a US Government security clearance
CAD experience a plus
Experience working within quality systems like ISO9001 or AS9100. Quality engineering certification (ex., CQE) and audit experience is a plus.
Understanding and experience with Linux, computer system architecture, network controllers, and FPGA devices a plus
Limited travel may be required.
