Excel Engineering, Inc. is seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated individual for a full-time Electrical Generation Plant Construction Supervisor position. This is for our power utility client project located in Shakopee, MN (SW Twin Cities area).

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Construction of a new pre-engineered metal building and foundations for 3 Wartsila brand diesel-electric power generation units and balance of plant (BOP) support mechanical systems.

• Installation and commissioning of Wartsila units and BOP systems.

• Planning, execution, and oversight of work being done and milestone documentation.

• Working with engineering and quality control to meet expectations.

• Preplanning and communicating with teammates.

• Jobsite Safety.

• Contractor daily task planning/work execution.

• Generation of checklists, including inspection.

• Reviewing specs and drawings.

• 30% office, 70% field.

• Daily work and safety compliance inspections and observations.

Requirements

• Utility Power Generation construction experience, 8-10 years. Not commercial construction.

• BOP mechanical systems experience that can ideally support Wartsila brand diesel-engine-driven power generation systems.

• Plant mechanical systems, including water processing, air compressors, HVAC, and fire protection experience.

• Strong mechanical background.

• Civil foundation construction experience to support structural steel and diesel engine-driven electric power generation systems.

• Drawing/Blueprint reading via Adobe PDF.

• Reading and comprehension of mechanical specifications.

• Safety minded.

• SAP Enterprise Resource Planning

• Associate Certified Welding Inspector

• OSHA 30

• OSHA 10

• Industrial Safety Training Council Basic Plus Course
