Overview
The Electrical Field Engineer provides essential support to the project team as needed. They demonstrate their understanding of assigned work activities by accurately tracking field work and design reviews. They assist with procurement tasks, adhere to the Project Manager. With their grasp of basic project operations, dependability, willingness to follow directions, and inquisitive nature, they deepen their understanding and improve their performance.
Responsibilities
Implement system renovation projects in collaboration with technical client's staff, engineering consultants, installers, and vendors
Review and comment on designs submitted by the designer (EOR)
Review and comment on product submittals submitted by different vendors and suppliers
Review and submit electrical shop drawings for approval
Submit and track submittals via log to and from client for approval in a timely manner
Review and address all the client's comments on design and product submittals for approvals
Prepare and submit electrical shop drawings for approval
Oversee and provide support to the field crew by providing drawings, documents and order material as requested in a timely manner
Keep track of field manhours during construction phase
Coordinate and track of electrical material with designer and selected vendors during design and construction phases
Review and evaluate designs from engineers, managers, and technicians for system modifications or installation of new system
Prepare purchase requisitions for electrical material including conduits, wires, electrical equipment, cabling, or tools as needed
Review and document technical specifications and operating standards for electrical industry
Estimate costs for system or component implementation and operations
Work with personnel and facilities management staff to assist install, remove, or relocate user connectivity equipment and devices
Review and submit system activity and performance reports
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field
Experience: 2-3 years of electrical construction experience and preparing shop drawings
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and AutoCAD is a must
Basic understanding of construction methodologies.
Communication: effective/clear communication in verbal/written
Independent/Collaborative Team Member: able to take direction and work in a team environment.
Time Management: Understands priorities and works diligently towards common goals. Completes tasks on time. Has a clear understanding of the tasks at hand and the steps needed to complete them on time.
Open to carrying out various tasks in both field office capacity and outside at the project site
