Excel Engineering, Inc. is seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated individual for a full-time Electrical Field Engineer II. This is for our power utility client in Denver, CO.

This Electrical Field Engineer role will be responsible for supporting 2 solar projects within the S. Colorado region near the Comanche Plant in Pueblo, CO. This resource will be in the field for significant amounts of time, working with the project team enforcing our specifications with the EPC contractor.

Primary duties:

• Responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of a machine, structure, or system.

• Develops functional requirements.

• Understands and applies standard engineering principles.

• Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure, or system operates.

• Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce the final product.

• Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes.

• Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of electrical engineering experience with 2-3 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design).

• Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited school or strong/commensurate experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical [thinking] skills to resolve answering questions, troubleshooting design conflicts, etc.

• Organization is key in this role, interfacing with several different teams, tracking, and documenting.

• Should know about NCRs, RFIs, and be able to understand and manage the scope of a contract.
