INVISTA is looking for an Electrical Equipment Engineer / Specialist to join our team in Orange, Texas. A successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Responsible for the overall reliability of electrical and instrumented equipment.
Drive Electrical and Instrumentation MI program elements to ensure sustainable site practices and procedures.
Develop repair scopes and improvements to increase equipment availability and uptime.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Develop detailed scopes for electrical equipment repairs, ensure SAP notifications are generated and drive management of change process to maintain equipment for reliable operation.
Monitor and evaluate reliability programs such as; motor oil analysis, vibration analysis results, motor, electrical equipment and instrument failure analysis, and RCA reports.
Drive electrical equipment improvements in collaboration with reliability engineers, maintenance mechanics, and operators. Initiate and drive MOCs to adequately document and manage the associated risk with the improvements.
Analyze vibration data for critical equipment utilizing IP21, AMS, System 1, and Prognost. Appropriately elevate issues and address deficiencies to prevent unplanned events.
Review and update equipment reliability strategies. Implement strategies in SAP using preventative maintenance plans.
Utilize Root Cause Analysis methodology to evaluate equipment failures and identify failure mechanisms/root causes to develop actions that will prevent reoccurrence.
Develop Risk Mitigation Plans (RMP) on critical machinery and associated electrical equipment when deficiencies are identified.
Interface with OEM/vendors regarding upgrades, best practices, design specs, spare parts, drawings, and budget estimates.
Oversee critical equipment repairs. Provide QA/QC at vendor shops to ensure repair/new fabrication is aligned with provided scope of work, design package, and code requirements.
Ensure repair reports are adequately reviewed and documented in the equipment files.
Report any incidents in a timely fashion that may have a negative impact on safety, health, or the environment.
Assist Large Project Work Process groups as required.
Work extended hours at times and be available for call-out as needed.
Learn and understand process units and equipment systems for full understanding of equipment operations.
Participates on other teams (PHAs, Large Projects, Program Development, etc.)
Keep current on all site training requirements.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering OR 10 years electrical equipment repair/design experience
Experience with computer programs: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, CMMS Software (SAP/other).
Ability to travel up to 10%

Vibration monitoring and analysis training through a national recognized organization.
Proficient in Bentley Nevada, System 1, and Prognost Vibration Monitoring
Proficient in Root Cause Analysis Cause Mapping/Fishbone/Fault Tree
Experience in electric motor Design/Repair
Experience in circuit breaker Design/Repair
Experience in transformer testing, maintenance, specification
Experience in protective relay testing, maintenance, specification; Multilin and Schweitzer
Experience in SKM model
Understanding of NEC
Understanding of NFPA/70E
