JOB OVERVIEW
Kaiyuh Information Technologies, LLC (KIT) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our team at the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Randolph AFB. This position will support a military organization tasked to develop highly technical training and simulation capabilities for service members. The Electrical Engineering Technologist assists electrical engineers in such activities as process control, electrical power distribution, or instrumentation design. The Electrical Engineering Technologist may prepare layouts of electrical transmission or distribution systems, supervise the flow of work, estimate project costs, or participate in research studies. They will perform as a member of a diverse project team to accomplish their work.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Performs electrical engineering, as well as Government program support tasks to include problem identification and resolution, data preparation, delivery, component and circuit design, and specialty engineering; risk identification and mitigation; fabrication and/or modification of assemblies; testing and evaluation; data management; and configuration management activity
Coordinate with Government personnel and management staff to provide requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and design alternatives
Plan, analyze, and develop electrical requirements for military training devices and simulator systems
Assist Government engineers in the design, prototyping, and reconfiguring of electrical/electronic assemblies and electro-mechanical interface and integration
Provide recommendations to improve electrical designs, functionality, and structural integrity within the overall goals of the project
Plan and conduct testing of military simulators and training devices
Conduct site surveys, facility readiness reviews, and provide installation recommendations
Review system engineering documentation for adequacy, completeness, and consistency
Research and analyze new simulation and training systems program requirements, and their anticipated implementation strategies
Performs incidental tasks related to the position as well as various duties, as assigned, to support the overall objectives/goals of the team
ABOUT YOU
Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field with combined ten (10) or more years' experience required; or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with combined five (5) years' experience required
Five (5) or more years of experience in OrCAD schematic design and pc board layout, LabView, simulation software environments (HOST and Instructor Operator Systems), design, troubleshooting, and drafting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams strongly preferred.
Secret clearance (minimum Tier 1) strongly preferred; must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
Ability to pass a background and drug screening
Demonstrated proficiency with CAD tools, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project and a web collaboration tool such as SharePoint
Familiarity with the Government acquisition life cycle, program documentation, and interface with Government and military leadership preferred
Familiarity with Government documents (Statement of Objectives (SOO), Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS)), Independent Government Estimates and familiarity with FAR and DFARS provisions and clauses
Desired Qualifications
Experience in research and development
Experience in using or a desire to learn required software
Experience supporting military customers
Experience with Alaska Native Corporations (ANC's)
