Troubleshoot analog/ digital/video circuits to a discrete component level.
Support engineering and manufacturing environment.
Make recommendations on processes to improve production output and reliability. May also be required to train personnel on new products.
Carry out testing as directed including: writing test plans, conducting testing, compiling data and generating reports on testing, etc. as required.
Must be able to support field related problems both over the phone and travel to customer site if necessary.
Ensure Engineering team leaders and others are adequately informed of current status and is aware of any obstructions to successful progression that cannot be effectively eliminated at the technician level.
Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after processes.
Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Install and maintain electrical control systems and solid state equipment.
Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
Write commissioning procedures for electrical installations.
Prepare project cost and work-time estimates.
Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.
Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.
Plan, schedule and monitor work of support personnel to assist supervisor.
Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing experimental electronic and electrical equipment.
Visit customer sites to observe conditions impacting design and to identify solutions for electrical system design problems that arise during equipment operation.

Required Education and Experience
Two year degree in electronics or 5 years in related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience with video circuitry and analog/digital circuit design.
Field service experience with troubleshooting and or repair of electronic and mechanical components or systems.
Must have computer skills and ability to navigate a Windows environment and Microsoft office including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must have minor mechanical assembly skills, use of hand tools and electrical crimp tools.
Must be able to use DMM, oscilloscope, function generator.
Familiar with analog and switching power supplies as well as buck and boost technology.
Must be familiar with motor control and motor drive circuits.
Troubleshooting and analysis skills to determine problems at a system level
Able to read schematics and system wiring diagrams.
Must be able to design, select components and build cable harness assemblies.
Must be able to draw schematics and wiring diagrams along with components and necessary BOMS.
Must be able to generate temporary documentation or redline drawings to support manufacturing changes.
Must be able to build and debug electronic prototypes.
Must have SMT soldering skills.
Must have ability to design and build test fixtures to support manufacturing environment
Preferred Education and Experience
Video test equipment use is a plus.
Altium, Orcad or other schematic capture program experience is a plus.
4 Year Degree in electronics or related field is a plus.

Lab Environment - ability to use computers and office equipment, light lifting and other physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.
Must be able to work outside on occasion and around a sewer environment.
Must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs. of force
Must be able to grip fine contacts and wires with one hand and operate crimping tool with the other hand.
Must be able to see fine components and have manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components.
Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. for at least 15 feet.
Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in the production areas.
Steel toe shoes must be worn at all times when in the production areas.
