What You Will Do

As an Electrical Engineering Technician you will support the Design team by building and reworking electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and components for use in the aerospace industry. This position will have direct contact with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, Calibration, Operations and Supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering with prototype assembly, rework, testing and troubleshooting,
• Use engineering drawings, specifications, and quality assurance standards to assemble components and cockpit panels,
• Perform basic troubleshooting of complex assemblies, assembly tools, tooling, and test equipment associated with production product, upgrades, & reworks,
• Adhere to lot traceability and general inventory practices,
• May be assigned tasks by supervisor/manager such as Fit-for-Use, Shelf Life and Calibration,
• Will be responsible to perform self-audits of workstation or as directed to ensure compliance to system and specification requirements,
• Assist Engineering with updating routings and work instructions,
• May perform visual, dimensional, electrical, functional, and optical inspections per specified documentation,
• May support Operations in troubleshooting of units failing acceptance testing,
• May support Repair Services in troubleshooting of returned units,
• Will be responsible for validating that build and inspection equipment is calibrated and/or qualified as Fit-for-Use.

Education

Undergraduate in Electrical Engineering / Trade school

Experience

2-5 years' experience working in electronics production and assembly

Specialized Skills and Abilities

• Strong communication skills

• Proficient in electrical component soldering

• Knowledge and Certification on IPC standard is a plus

• Ability to follow detailed processing sheets; able to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings

• Must have a keen attention to detail

• Must have basic ability to operate a computer

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and effectively communicate

• Willing to work extra hours, and potentially weekends

Physical Requirements

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Sit, stand and walk for 1 - 10 hours per day

Work Environment

• This job operates in a professional indoor, climate controlled manufacturing environment

Salary Range

Please note the typical hiring range is $25.00 - $35.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
