We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Junior Electronic Engineering Technician to work out of Fort Eustis, VA. This role supports the operation and modification of experimental or highly instrumented test aircraft.
Install avionics hardware, systems, and subsystems into military aircraft.
Fabricate and install aircraft research instrumentation systems and subsystems.
Fabrication of wiring harnesses to include soldering, crimping and cable fabrication, and plug and connector installation in accordance with schematics, interface control documents, and other information according to the maturity f the systems being supported.
Aircraft engineering drawing and electrical schematic reading and interpreting.
Aircraft component removal, replacement, and identification.
Conduct test and evaluation of new and experimental subsystems on both conventional and non-conventional aircraft.
Fabricate subsystem-/component-level prototypes for application of proof-of-principle.
Must be able to interpret Modification Work Orders (MWOs) to ensure accurate parts and equipment are utilized in the fabrication and installation of components.
Resolve technical issues to ensure that systems are properly installed and functional.
Plan, adapt, modify, and special purpose equipment.
Fabricate aircraft-specific test and evaluation equipment.
Electrical and electronic system and component troubleshooting.
Use of specialized tools, equipment, and test sets.
Use of common powered and non-powered hand tools and electronic test equipment.
Personnel shall have knowledge and familiarity with SAE AS50881, "Wiring, Aerospace Vehicle."
This position may require standing for long hours and working in, around, and on military aircraft in close quarters.
Support multiple and concurrent projects.
Additional duties as assigned
Associates degree, or technical training, in Engineering Technology and/or Aviation related field.
Experience working with experimental or highly instrumented test aircraft
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
Sufficient experience and general knowledge to work independently once being assigned the task and basic facets of the assignment are known and understood.
