Electrical Engineering Supervisor
The Electrical Engineer Supervisor is responsible for leading engineers, helping to execute projects, overseeing projects and developing department processes within the electrical engineering department. This person is to be familiar with project management principles, resource and budget management, power generation, distribution, protection and related control systems as well as applicable industry codes and standards. Use engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Willingness to immediately travel as required
Willingness to travel to and work at remote locations throughout the year with 30% being an average yearly travel requirement.
Maintain technical expertise in controls systems hardware and software technology through Fives sponsored and external media (such as training courses and classes, technical journals and magazines, professional societies, site visits, etc.).
Prepare scope of work and technical specification documents during project proposal and execution phase.
Assist in preparing electrical engineering project estimates.
Assist in selecting, negotiating with, and managing electrical subcontracts.
Ensure that all project tasks, milestones, schedules, and budgets are defined, communicated, accurately reported, and met.
Coordinates the resources to design electrical control system equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for the control of automated and conventional sortation and conveying systems.
Carries out direct supervisory responsibilities of 4-6 engineers in a department setting with responsibility for the technical adequacy of the team's work.
Education and Experiences
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (four-year college or university); and 8-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated proficiency with 2D CAD skills (AutoCAD 2012 or higher)
Proven technical leadership for medium to large scale construction or engineering projects
Directly managed or supervised a technical team with 5-8 members
Directly managed and responsible for project budgets not exceeding $2M
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Project or equivalent
Analytical problem solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma or similar disciplines
Expert knowledge in PLCs.
