We are seeking a highly motivated hardware developer to work in a team of other hardware and software developers to design and implement systems and modules to be deployed in Microsoft's Azure Cloud.

As a member of this team, you will work directly with engineers across the company and across the world to design HW from concept to data center deployment. You will work with internal partners to develop requirements and specifications and you will manage a team of Electrical Engineers focused on the development of key differentiating PCBA solutions for Microsoft's Cloud.   • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills

  • BS / MS Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical or system level design across all stages of the development and release cycles

  • Experience with Cadence EDA tools

  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design.

  • Experience developing HW component and system level specifications

  • Experience developing HW verification and functional test plans

  • Experience working across disciplines and organizations to resolve complex issues

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Fundamental knowledge of the following HW design principals: Signal Integrity, Power Design, Computer Architecture

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and thermal system design considerations

The Cloud Server Infrastructure (CSI) team in Microsoft's Azure C+E division is responsible for delivering server infrastructure for Microsoft's online services. The hardware for operating these services (over 200 and counting), comprises of hundreds of thousands of servers spread globally and applications that reach hundreds of millions of users every day. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. As a Technical Program Manager for Electrical Engineering, you will play a key role in the integration of new cutting-edge technologies to next-gen programs. You will be defining and driving highly complex, cross-functional integration plans for the new product introductions and you will guide the electrical engineering execution including planning of requirements, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks and associated mitigations. You will be responsible for communication of program status and risk to program stakeholders. In this role, you will have major impact on future products. You will establish requirements with internal and external customers, manage system builds, part designs, component delivery schedules, identify risks and associated mitigation plans, as well as clearly communicate to program stakeholders. Technical Program Manager, Electrical Engineering Responsibilities * Work closely with the Electrical Engineering team, driving and tracking the investigation, definition and delivery of next generation products. Create development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead-times and business needs. Manage communication within, and between, internal engineering and external vendor teams. Assist engineering and sourcing teams with supplier evaluation and selection. Work with teams to set milestones, communicate program statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks. Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery. Manage delivery of samples and mass production parts for the different builds. Organize required face to face on site meeting with vendors. Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables, including specifications, design options, and test plans. Ensure program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review. Contribute to resource planning to ensure program success. Up to 20% travel. Minimum Qualifications * BS in Engineering field, or equivalent experience. 7+ years experience as a Program Manager managing hardware Electrical Engineering programs from concept to mass production. Experience with phase gate approach to technology development projects. Experience with component and module qualification, validation and characterization processes. Knowledge of program and issue tracking. Communication experience and experience working with technical teams. Problem-solving and organizational experience.
