Our managers work closely with students in an effort to prepare and evaluate them for full time STV employment upon graduation. In addition to meaningful work on many world-class projects, we offer STV's Co-Op Development Program to our interns to help them network with one another, to learn some critical professional skills, and to have fun.

STV, Inc. is seeking a Electrical Engineering Intern Student for our Transportation and Infrastructure division in our Douglassville, PA office.

Key responsibilities will include the preparation of electrical and fire alarm designs, calculations, estimates, reports and specifications for building and facilities projects. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings.

Required Skills:

Candidate will be enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have exposure to AutoCAD, lighting design software, and other electrical engineering tasks. Skills with Revit are a plus.

Required Experience:

Good planning, organizational and communications skills are necessary for success in this position. Note: some travel may be required.

Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

VIEW JOBS 10/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-12T00:00 STV Energy Services, Inc. in Douglassville, PA is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Project Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead teams in the design of Pipeline Projects (metering stations, pump stations, compressor stations) for our Oil and Gas clients. Minimum Qualifications Include: * A minimum of 5 years of design experience. * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. * Registered Professional Engineer (by exam) or capable of obtaining PE within 18 months. * Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the latest version of the National Electrical Code, including hazardous location wiring practices and underground cable installation. * Working knowledge of relevant industry standards: UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc. * Proficient in power system studies using EasyPower or SKM or ETAP. * Proficient in specifying, sizing, procuring, designing installations, & protective relay settings for medium and low voltage electrical equipment (motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFDs, PDCs). * Proficient in calculations: Conduit Fill, Cable Tray Fill, Voltage Drop, Short Circuit, Lighting, etc. * Proficient in sizing and selection: GEC, Conductors, Panelboards, Breakers, Fuses, Switches, etc. * Proficient in wiring, motor controls, VFD controls, SWGR controls, grounding, impedance grounding, lighting, lightning protections, over current device selection, etc. * Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Access for creating and editing cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, BOMs, data sheets, etc. * Basic proficiency in AutoCAD to modify existing 2D drawings (wiring, plans, area class, details, etc.). * Excellent interpersonal relationship skills: Work with clients one-on-one (minimal supervision) on scope development and technical details. * Good verbal and written communication skills in English. * Desire and willingness to learn Instrumentation and Controls. * Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. Responsibilities in Addition to Minimum Qualifications: * Check the work of project team members and work from other offices. * With minimal supervision, will lead and plan daily work for self and team members consisting of drafters and designers to modify or create wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, plot plans, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, cable tray plans, grounding plans, power plans, electrical installation details. * Manage budget and schedule for the project's IC&E resources and deliverables. * Be able to read, interpret, and check vendor E&I drawings and vendor catalogs. * Travel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (~ 5% of time). Additional Experience a plus: * Practical field experience (start up and commissioning, maintenance, etc.). * Experience with selecting components for design of SCADA & PLC/DCS control system including Panel Layout, Architecture, Configuration, Sizing, & Communication links (Modbus, ENET, etc.). * Experience in performing applicable calculations and selecting instrumentation (flow, pressure, and temperature), transmitters, actuators, motor operated valves, etc. for basic applications. * High proficiency in AutoCAD. * Pole line distribution - 35 kV and below.
