Description:

The person will be responsible for testing NAR specific infotainment functions within the market. Testing will consist of static bench and dynamic road tests as well as all documentation, failure analysis and tracking with the suppliers and responsible colleagues in Wolfsburg, Germany. Ensuring that the test equipment is prepared to the correct version levels is also a requirement of this position.

Role Responsibilities:Test Planning and Reporting - (20%)

Organizes testing activities on given function
Reports and communicates results and critical issues to key project partners

Functional Error Resolution - (60%)

Provides documentation (failure report, tracing) on infotainment communication errors found during static and dynamic evaluation
Uploads the documentation to the central database and follows up directly with responsible engineers for resolution

Test Equipment Management - (20%)

Ensure the test benches and vehicles are at the correct version levels
Define and implement changes with the team as required

Requirements

Required:

2-5 years of related engineering experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Experience with automotive infotainment control modules
Experience testing infotainment technology and the interaction with in-vehicle systems
Understanding of vehicle communication networks and the ability to capture communication traces

Desired:

Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with automotive infotainment control module root cause analysis
Experience testing/releasing full vehicle electrical systems (module and functional testing)
Experience with Volkswagen infotainment control modules
Ability to trouble-shoot communication breakdowns within the network by analyzing the network communication

Work Flexibility:

Travel to the suppliers and VW facilities
Frequent road testing consisting of 1-2 weeks on the road

VIEW JOBS Role Summary: This position is a local EV high voltage battery system sub-component development specialist for the localized HV battery project in Chattanooga, will coordinate all the development/localization engineering aspects for the HV/LV sub-components (exclude cell/module and controllers) inside the battery pack local produced with partners in the region (production/purchasing/quality/suppliers) and counterparts in Germany to ensure the project target in term of quality, cost and project timing to be met. Role Responsibilities: Localized Product Coordination - (60%) * Work with internal partners to ensure Volkswagen requirements are available and understood during the local supplier selection phases for battery pack sub-components * Evaluation of supplier capabilities and other technical assistance * Review challenges that arise during the production ramp up and track resolutions to closure * Initiate change request process and support for the implementation in the region if needed * Ensure project timelines are tracked Coordination with Project Lead and Benchmark - (40%) * Represent local battery pack sub-components development projects status in tandem with project lead in Germany * Ensure constant communication of project design and supply * Align locally requested changes with project leads in Germany * Align platform changes to the battery pack sub-components initiated abroad are implemented in the localized project * Perform deep level technical analysis & benchmark test of battery sub-components from the competitor/supplier based on the input from colleagues in Germany and regional requirement Qualifications: Years of Experience: * 3 years of experience with vehicle electrical component development and testing(high voltage components preferred) Education - Required: * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Education - Desired: * Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Skills: * Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic * Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written * Computer savvy - skilled in the use of software, for example Microsoft office etc. * Integration - joining people, processes or systems * Influencing and negotiation skills * Resource management * German skills written and verbal are advantageous Specialized Skills: Required: * Experience with automotive electrical components development and industrialization * Development experience with electrical vehicle batteries and high voltage components Desired: * Knowledge of automotive battery system HV/LV sub-component suppliers bases(NAR especially) * Experience with vehicle wiring/harness component development(HV preferred) Work Flexibility: * Frequently traveling to the suppliers and the R&D department in Germany * Increased extended travel to Germany during the initial phase of the work * Be able to work under the relative high voltage environment(<1000V DC)</span> Volkswagen Group of America is an Equal Opportunity Employer. VIEW JOBS Role Summary: This position is the primary technical interface between the electrical development departments and the production team to collaboratively understand, test, analyze and provide solutions for vehicle electrical issues. Development topics must be analyzed, organized, documented and sent to the correct developer in our partner teams responsible for the ultimate solution.
