Job Purpose:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will utilize computer-aided software to review, modify, and design electrical systems, while simultaneously validating and improving the performance of electromechanical equipment and components. You will join a team of mechanical, structural, and control systems engineers as we continue to grow our company and expand our capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use Auto-cad Electric software to review, modify and design electrical systems

  • Create drawings for manufacturability using standard drafting practices within your assigned area

  • Design and evaluate electrical systems for the equipment we manufacture and rehab.

  • Develop and review complete control system designs, with the team, produce online drawings for system development, produce network diagram drawings for system development, produce detailed control panel designs so they can be manufactured in the panel shop at WEMCO or by subcontractors.

  • Create test procedures, provide technical assistance during equipment assembly and shop testing of the designed systems.

  • Develop, implement, and sustain policies and procedures for the electrical work performed in the department by yourself and fellow employees

  • Execute technical assignments with the ability to integrate systems adhering to schedule and cost considerations

  • Write periodic reports or oral presentations to management and customers on specific projects, help produce required submittal packages for submission to customers for approval.

  • Work with customers to develop and qualify process changes and provide technical and professional services as needed for electrical system design on WEMCO manufactured and rehabilitated equipment.

  • Conduct electrical progress work inspections on a continuous basis along with complete electrical installation checkout to ensure quality, codes, standards and specifications are met before turnover.

  • Support technical coordination of lock-out/tag-out program activities.

  • Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers and craft workers to solve drawing issues and provide information necessary for proper wiring or installation of electrical equipment

  • Coordinate with buyers or as needed fulfill procurement for electrical panel and system fabrication and assembly

  • Issue Purchase Orders for materials and components needed on control systems and general equipment

  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests that are technical in nature

  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations

  • Create and review O&M manuals for electrical systems on designed or rehabilitated equipment

  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with others

  • Must maintain a clean driving record since you may be asked to drive a company vehicle at times

  • Be willing to travel for short periods of time to manage project assignments as needed

  • Be willing to study and learn relevant industry standard requirements such as ISO9001, AS9100, NCCCO, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, CMAA, AWS, IBC, ASCE, ASME, UL, NEMA, IEC as well as any other related specifications needed to perform industry-accepted designs and equipment

  • Acquire the UL508a MTR certification, by completing the UL Solutions online training course and receiving a passing score on the exam
