We are looking for an electrical engineer/FPGA designer capable of:

  • FPGA design process including requirements generation, preliminary design, peer reviews, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test.
  • Understanding the requirements and architect of HW/FW/SW protocol and subsystem communication bus protocol
  • Designing 10G Ethernet based Network Interface Designs or 10G Ethernet Switch designs
  • Working with high speed memory interfaces (DDRx) and high speed serial protocols (PCI Express, SRIO, Ethernet)
  • Designing of IPV4 or IPV6
  • Utilizing basic digital logic design concepts (understanding how VHDL code translates into logic primitives within an FPGA); understanding of all of the architectural elements within Xilinx FPGA
  • Static timing analysis and the process by which timing closure is achieved in a design
  • Utilizing thorough understanding of the Vivado or Quartus tool suite used to generate FPGA designs
  • Cadence Incisive Enterprise Simulator, Subversion, Python or Perl
  • Integrating with HW/software and supporting the complete testing and qualification of the deliverable system
  • Working independently and has strong technical leadership to lead a team of designers in generating the firmware design solutions

Requirements

This position requires the candidate to possess or have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

  • BS Degree in electrical/computer engineering
  • 10+ years or related experience (or 8+ years including a Master's degree)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain TS SCI Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Avionics designs
  • Experience designing with Northwest Logic Gen 3 PCIe and 3rd Party DDR3 cores
  • Ability to write C++ and use Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Ability to write Linux driver
  • Basic knowledge of computer network protocols
  • Understanding and exposure to Fiber Optics and Fibre channel Network Protocols
  • Ability to work with the System Engineer and flow system specifications down to the FW/SW specifications
  • Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware / Software Engineering and Systems Engineering is desired

Preferred Additional Skills: * 3+ years of experience verifying ASICs / FPGAs. * 2+ years of experience with verification methodology like OVM / UVM. * 2+ years of experience in ASIC / FPGA verification using C/C++ and/or System Verilog. * 1+ years of experience with building and setting up scalable simulation/verification environments. * Experience with and understanding of Altera and/or Xilinx FPGA architectures. * Thorough understanding of the Vivado and/or Quartus tool suite. * Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. * Proficiency with hardware verification languages: System Verilog, System Verilog Assertions * Proficiency with Object Oriented Programming Concepts: Inheritance, Polymorphism, etc. * Proficient in scripting languages: bash/csh, Perl, Python, etc. * Revision Control Systems: svn, git * Proficient in Linux Environments * Constrained Random Verification Experience highly desired. * Experience with packet-based protocols (PCI Express etc.), Network-centric designs (Ethernet, IP, FC). * Experience with high speed memory interfaces (DDRx). * Familiarity with test scoping for complex designs, code coverage, functional coverage, assertions. * Ability to focus on finding design issues, corner cases and out of box ideas to make designs more robust. * Ability to obtain TS SCI Secret security clearance. * Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware / Software Engineering and Systems Engineering is desired.
